Cannot help feeling that may be the most balanced answer I get to my question and I agree with most of what you say. I agree that it has run its course and the statement released by Les Ferdinand when QPR decided to stop doing it was brilliant. The first game after lockdown when no one knew Villa & Sheff Utd were going to do it it was a powerful moment and watching it live I remember thinking that it was a moment that will live in history. The fact that it has carried on for so long now as watered down the message. This will be made worse by a lot of people getting angry at it, most not really knowing why. I would wager that there is a group of players, for right or wrong reasons, who no longer want to take part in it but the pressure to do it must be immense. Imagine the media furore over the first player who does not join in before a match. This to me goes against the message they are tryng to get across.
Fair point Hemase.. There have been a few players who have stood, not in Britain. James Mc Clean though gets a lot of flak for not wearing the poppy, I agree with him, but that's his prerogative.
Its not voluntarily. I can guarantee you a lot of footballers don't want to take the knee but know they'll be in trouble if they don't.
They shouldn't have to Elland IMO and I don't think it's makes them in any way racist if they didn't. I think the footballing authorities should come out and support any players who for whatever reason don't feel comfortable in doing it.
The Premier League and the EFL have dictated that it should happen because it makes them feel like they did something. It looks twee and stupid now and makes the players out to be morons. Players in sports all around the world are saying no more, enough and even the Irish Rugby lads refused to do it, most of the F1 drivers refused to do it all. i watched our 23s against WBA yesterday and when I think back about it most of the players on the pitch were black but I saw footballers not different groups. Same last night watching 2 Prem matches with plenty of black players. Inwould say that black players are a huge part of modern day football now and nobody even notices is it except when a player gets some stick and the word black gets used. I worry about the ginger players....
Inthink we live in one of the most non racist countries in the world and deffo the most non racist in Europe as was shown in a recent EU poll. We just have the liberal media virtue signalling twats that like to have identity politics whereas the vast majority of us think they’re stupid. Nothing says non racist more than me being shocked watching a top Italian drama on Netflix. This is a 2020 drama and one of the top tv series in Italy. Its called Suburra and about mafia and gangs and different gangs like the gypsies who are treated as 4th class by Italian society but one of the main characters is doing a black hooker and he decides to take her home and ask her to live with him. His sister meets her and calls her a black bitch and says it countless times and in the next episode she shoots her dead. The brother goes after the sister and she says she didn't need her brother living with a black...... no way would that stuff get anywhere near tv over here but in Europe blacks especially migrants are called black bastards by almost everyone. Mainstream
Could you imagine the outrage if it did come back on our screens even though the dumb ****s dont realise theyre taking the piss out of the honkey ... because that's ok.
About to watch season 3 of Suburra, great series Refreshing to watch something without all that woke PC bollocks.
Best comedian ever would never be on tv now or anyone like Sid James, Tommy Cooper, Benny Hill, Dudley Moor and Peter Cook, Bernard Manning. But the best comedian of the day wasnt really a comedian just a social observer called Dave Allen. Imagine the way he ripped the crap out of religion but its ok if its christianity but dont go anywhere near Islam. Even Billy Connely is to risky fir snowflakes today. Fk me the BBC darent say fisherman anymore incase it upsets anuone so they call them fisherpeople ffs

Too right we'd be freezing our b*ll*cks off, it's always noticeable when half the kop empties at half-time Coldest I felt last season was in the away end at Forest, mind you my pals & I were on the front row near the corner flag. I had to nip upto the concourse & buy a chocolate bar & a coffee to warm myself up. I found a seat higher up in the stand for the second-half. Not a great day although I'll always remember the Forest fans singing 'Leeds Leeds are falling apart again'. Silly tits thought they were going up after that victory, they missed out on a play-offs & the rest is history Ironic as Forest are in the relegation zone this season
