PISKIE has threatened to ban me for having a laugh

That's right, my Spurs faithful.

The mighty PISKIE, that man-giant of an AFC mod, with broad shoulders, and a fine jaw, has given me a "final friendly" warning for daring to post that photo of VDV laughing at Wenger in a thread on the AFC board.

Now, forget about the fact that I am not VDV and did not do the actual laughing, nor am I even the photographer who took the photo of VDV laughing into the face of a disgruntled Wenger.

No.

I am merely a fan on a fan-site who happened to post a photo, taken by someone else, of VDV laughing at Wenger.

But... and this is how low we have sunk on this site... that is enough to warrant the threat of being banned from a board.

My question is, quite simply, this...

It won't stop until idiots like PISKIE are forced to accept that humour and banter is part and parcel of a healthy website.

It's not for me to judge how Piskie chooses to moderate the Arsenal board and I have no idea which thread it was posted on, but it's all about intent, persistent behaviour and context, in my opinion.

So, get PISKIE to link to the thread, so that we can all judge the severity of my (supposed) crime. I can assure you, there is not crime, only the pathetic over-sensitivity of PISKIE.

As regards "intent" what do you mean by that, PNP?

My intent to post a funny photo? My intent to cause humour without reasonable cause? My intent to brandish wit without a licence? Please, be more specific.

As regards "persistent behaviour" that smacks of the same bullshit. What "behaviour"? How is that "persistent"?

As regard "context" there is nothing magical in all of this. I posted that photo of VDV laughing in Wenger's face. It was in the national papers and read by millions of people. Why should I be threatened with a banning for drawing it to the attention of a handful of Gooners?


PNP, I've got to say this, but I rather get the impression that you'd rather not upset the status quo than stick up for those whom you purport to represent.

I don't represent Spurs fans on this forum HIAG, I'm one of the moderators on the Spurs board.
I'm not going to question how any other mod chooses to run their board and wouldn't welcome them doing the same to me either, frankly.
If I'm doing something wrong, then I'm sure that you lot will tell me.

My comment wasn't about you in particular, but comments and forum members in general.
I should've stated that, so I'm sorry for any confusion caused.

There can be quite clear differences in intent.
Some comments are clearly meant to disrupt articles and wind people up.
The same is true of persistently antagonistic behaviour.
One misjudged comment is a mistake which can be ignored, whereas a load of them probably requires some sort of action, be it a PM or more.
By context I was referring to the thread that a comment is posted on.
Something that's appropriate to one article may not be appropriate for another.

To be fair to PISKIE (and I will be fair with any one who is fair with me), he has sent me another PM pointing out that he appreciates that it's all banter, and that he merely has to respond to the concern of others.

So, the problem appears to be that there are humourless gits on the AFC board who are bullying their mods into writing stupid PMs to witty rival posters, in an attempt to lessen the humour on this site.

Therefore, let me make this plea to all thick and humourless posters on this site...

Just because you don't find something funny does not mean that it is not funny.

HIAG, you do appear to have the abillity to piss off other team's users. I don't care to read through what you've done now but I'd suggest that it's not your duty to let the Arsenal/Liverpool/[insert team] fans know that they're wrong.
