Other than Sky (nice one Dave), had any other news outlets ran with our potential takeover? All seems a bit quiet. Calm before the storm?
plenty , guardian broke the story sky just followed on from it, alan nixon confirmed it , l'quipe confirmed that the process has begun in recruiting a director of football , i think @Prehab said we are down to the last 2 candidates on who takes the role. Also the Athletic ran a story this morning
I think sky will have got the ok from Dave Jones as to it was bulls**t or not. I've seen a few articles about people saying it's too much for a 23 year old to be taking on. Seems there's a hint or jealousy from what I've seen. But add to that, I have a young family, work shifts and loads of overtime so I just see what I see on here for news. Appreciate the reply mate.
No worries mate , he comes from a football background so that will help im sure he will have a large network based on his family and Marsielle past A guess until things are official its just wait and see exactly who is involved
Deffo. Seen something about how he mite not understand the financial pits of Sunderland and that due diligence hasn't been taken on yet, like I say, just loads of digs. I'm sure if it were a London club then it would be a different story.
a wouldn't be taking much notice of that french article yesterday mind , as far as i'm aware it is with the solictors and the efl now and should be announced by early December
That article in The Athletic was a real eye-opener. We could be about to get ourselves an owner with a good business pedigree and an educated understanding of the intricacies of running a Football Club. He is clearly very passionate about the game, and I can't wait for the time when we can show him just how much passion we have too. Could be a match made in heaven.
Well it seems the other Donald has realised he is out in a couple of months. We now just need our Donald to pizz off in the next couple of weeks.
I expect he'll have an excellent team around him ,advisors, lawyers etc whether he likes it or not, so he doesn't spunk the family fortune!
“He will not spend like an oligarch,” says a source. “This is not like buying a helicopter. It’s rational. It will be a project. Damn. I want him to spend like an oligarch! Spending anything will be a vast improvement on what we have at the moment though.
I don’t want them to go gung ho but I’d like them to have a clear development plan and model which they can afford to put quality people and resources behind.
they had actually done some Background work on him, I’m more confident after reading the article. Having said that, the two clownshoes have scarred me for life being optimistic at the future.
They can save gung ho for a push on the Prem League title and Champions League qualification First step, spend to get us out of this league!
It's all comparable. If he spends £500k he'll be spending like an oligarch compared to the tight bastards we currently have.
