There is, or at least was a big car park near the ground. On a non-football visit, the prickly attendant decided he'd go for his tea-break and lock everyone in. He really was just trying to be a jobsworth smart arse. I was fortunate enough to still be there to see the look on his face when he returned and saw an empty car park and the remains of his electronic barrier, that was just a fizzing stump spinning like an epileptic dalek after it lost the power struggle with an HGV that decided it was time to leave.
It wasn’t fishing expedition. It was a joke comment as I presume was Castro’s reaction to it. I know only one Ipswich supporter, he’s a good lad. I bumped into him on Saturday & told him we’d muller them, he agreed. He then directed me to where I’d get a good sausage & tomato sarnie. I got two.
I know what you've done, but it's like claiming Middlesbrough have only been going for 34 years, or for that matter HCAFC for only 20 years. Given the fact Norwich City celebrated their centenary in 2002, they've spent well over three quarters of their history outside of the top flight.
Absolutely... the sausage sarnies that is... always buy them in pairs.. bit o daddies brown.. fabulous
4-0 City or win on pens. This is a match I would not be too upset if we did end up losing. Ipswich will be one of the sides near the top of the division, and we'll still be in a good position should the worst arise. However, it sounds like Ipswich have been dropping off performance wise recently, a lot of Town fans haven't been happy with Lambert, so it might be a great time to play them.
So, you are counting non league years, are you? HCAFC 20 years? We have never been out of the league and reformed. Neither have Boro. Unlike Hull FC who to all intents and purposes did but still have 1865 on their shirts.
And yet...."Rugby league began in 1895" https://www.nrl.com/operations/hist...ue began in 1895,for rugby tours and injuries.
Hull FC were formed by some posh school types from York who played the full version before rugby lite started.
Used to run a junior team with someone who was a teacher in Hull for a few years and ran teams in Hull. Quite a few of them made it with league clubs. The most successful was Neil Thompson. When the bloke died of a heart attack at 42 Neil Thompson came up to present the trophies inthe final of a memorial trophy in his name. My lad was captain of his school and his son was in the team of the other school. Only game my lad was pleased they didn't win as he was happy to see his son get the trophy off Neil Thompson. After the game they had a presentation, drinks etc and Thompson brought some stuff along to raffle and I won a signed Ipswich shirt. Like you I have only known one Ipswich fan, someone I worked with at the time, and gave it to him. Very chuffed he was.
I'm counting non-league years, we were told about our 104 year wait for top flight football but this included one year of no league and just friendlies. I wasn't sure if you were hinting Norwich had been wound up, much like Middlesbrough in 1986 and us in 2000. New companies, same clubs though. That said it's always been Hull City Tigers, well 'some' think that.
No a new club wasn't formed, a new company was when the old one was wound up by Adam Pearson. Much like Middlesbrough who had 1986 on their club badge for several years, the current Hull City business dates from12 July 2000, although with two name changes since!
Different things though. Norwich, as a well run club have never been in such dire straits and an example for less successful clubs to follow.,
