I cannot listen to PP's interviews following the matches but I am curious has any journo actually asked him what his problem is with subs? Is it lack of confidence in himself? Is it he does not trust the bairns? Is it its working so leave it until it f*cks up? Or is it something else?

I still think we have the best squad in this division and providing we act quickly automatic promotion is still there for the taking. A decent run which we are more than capable of is all it would take. Just need a manager to give them that confidence and freedom.

PS and to drop all 3 of the forwards (Wyke, Grigg & Graham) out of the 1st team picture altogether

I thought the best we looked at any point while we've been in this division was when Maguire, Honeyman, and Gooch were all in the side at the same time. With Maja up front.

It must be dreadful for the players at Sunderland who do care ...

... and have to play with those who obviously don't.

I deliberately watched Hume yesterday and he became increasingly annoyed as the game went on. I think that's why Honeyman, Watmore, etc, sometimes appear erratic because they're trying too hard and over compensating. I may be wrong but I do wonder.

So right Gil, chuck Power and Maguire onto that compost heap, and I would have given you two likes. <ok>

Same with Gooch I'm not his biggest fan but no wonder he is knackered having to play alongside Wyke and Maguire who for one reason or another are totally ineffective, game after game its painful to watch.

I would look good playing with Honeyman, Gooch and Maja in this league and I've got a hernia. <laugh>

Just watching Fulham v Everton entertaining game, two crap defences.

Richarlson just did a Grigg in front of goal.

That's partly it though, isn't it? Maguire has shown with decent players around him, he can be effective. He's got nothing to work with now. Wyke might as well be a statue and there's little coming from the central midfield areas.

Again though Smug why don’t they say something even in private especially if three or four of them say try f ucking harder or we are going to batter you if they don’t I believe they are as much to blame as the other lazy gits
Ps I can’t imagine for one minute in most companies they would say nothing if it effected their bonuses.

It's so obvious, isn't it, mate?

And this is why our soon to be created Sporting Director must pull out all the stops in January to get the 'content in League 1 brigade' out, and replace with young, pacey ambitious players, who feel that League One is just a stepping stone on their rise up the ladder.

Then and only then will we see progress.

i think mcgeady DID say something...if true that there are 'fave players' at the club i can see why most will just keep plodding along. each and every player has shown that they are at least very capable of playing in this division, so why they cannot do this on a regular basis i have no idea.

The strangest thing is, if we lose I won’t even be pissed off knowing that it’s another nail in Stonehenge’s coffin.

Have to agree to disagree mate. I've watched him tear teams to shreds in this division and his passing be amazing. (Andy Reid was less fit than him btw) As I say, it's a consistence thing with him. When he first signed I said he could play at premier league level if he played to the top of his game 9 out of 10. Stand by that. As I say - his 9/10 games are less often than my gigs at the moment and I have none of them!!

In Maguire's defence re Bury - he was mentally in a very bad place which he admitted to. But he is miles off form at the minute!! Think he's my Dad's favourite player mind as, when I chatted to him on Saturday about him it was "well he was the only one who had a shot in the first 20 minutes" as if completely ignoring all of the times he gave the ball away!!

As fort Honeyman - I'm in exactly the same boat - when here he looked miles off!! Now look!! We got money for him though so it's fine - it was well invested in a new lift door probably!

Whilst I love the romanticism, I think it'll take away from his playing in the modern game and, by hell, we need him in the middle of the park at the minute as we're left with Max Power or George Dobson if he's not there!!
