Why bother? Pay 20mil now and let Don get the rest of his cash from a sale further down the line. No need to pay it now.

Dave Jones on sky looking awfully pally with Freddie Ljungberg. Freddie left Arsenal in August 2020 to pursue his career somewhere else in management.
He isn’t working as far as I know and he’s Scandinavian.
That is my tenuous link for tonight, maybe

Everyone entitled to their own opinion. I think Poyet would be a good manager at this level but obviously we’ve seen his good and bad side before. I just think Pearson and Phillips would really capture the imagination and get the place bouncing again. Plus, I think we need a bit discipline around the place.

Spot on. My only worry is that him demanding he keeps some shares might put some potential buyers off. If KLD is happy to accept it then I'm not arsed. As for people thinking he might still have a say, I think they'd be shocked if they knew just how rudderless we've been since the play off final. They're barely having an input now, it's not going to change after a takeover.

Pearson and Phillips are a bit more 'Sunderland' than Poyet. Direct, attacking football, with physicality and commitment. I'd love SKP to get a chance at some point too, and as assistant, he'd still keep his legendary status even if it went tits up.

So do I, I want the lot of them to **** off and I include Sartori in that. If that's a deal breaker though and he demands to keep a small percentage to cash in later, then I'm not bothered as long as we get sold to people who might actually start to reestablish us.

I'm not concerned. If they want them out, they can just invest ****loads, diluting Donald and Methven's holding to nowt. Meanwhile, the club gets **** tons of money on our romp to the top of the European footballing dinner table.

In what way? They'll own a few shares in us which brings zero influence on the running of the club. That will be the remit of our new minted overlords, which personally is much more important to me. Don and Meth being minority stakeholders is nowt compared to getting some folk with a few quid, some good football contacts and hopefully good football appointments in.

Why is everyone getting carried away about SD & CM having a few shares?
Unless there's an agreement with the new owners to buy the shares at an agreed time / price they can just sit there. No dividends will be paid and no one will want to buy a minority stake in Madrox off them. They will have zero influence.
The only problem may be when the new majority owners look to sell on but that's why you have clever legal types.

This. Got them, won't want to sell a golden egg just yet.
I have to say, I think they have massively underestimated the savvy nature of the Mackem. Cleary had us down as thick, beer swilling ideots that will go along with anything they said. It was PR all the way from the off. They just said yes to everything on podcasts, no matter what it was, just keep the daft twats happy. Paid people in pints and burgers for doing the seat change etc. imo they bought Will Grigg because he had a catchy chant, more PR.Even after we ballsed up automatic promotion,CM was on talkSPORT saying "yeah but it's the best way to go up" re the playoffs, more PR.

I see only two problems with them retaining shares.

Firstly, if any new owners want to put new money into the club, are the two chancers obliged to match it per share? Will they be able to, and what happens if they can't or won't? If they invest more money then they will be entitled to share in any future success , but if they don't then clearly they should see no benefit from a club being ran properly when they have made such an arse of things. There may be a good answer to this from a financially savvy chap of course , so it may not be a problem at all.

Secondly, these two are like milk spilled in the back of your car. A very bad smell that you yearn to be rid of.

If this goes through as has been described then SD & CM will have left the building
They may have the hope of making some money further down the line but as any good Sunderland supporter knows ITHICS
Things don't always work out the way you planned

There's ways and means. I am reasonably confident that our new owners will be very well advised.

I had personal experience on your second point many years ago and your right the smell didn't go away. However there was a repeat episode relatively recently and a product is now available which does solve that problem. Perhaps there is some legal remedy that may avoid any lingering smells at SAFC.

New owners could put money in as directors loans.
