    Scarlet and Dove 7/1 - Cork 2.35

Unbeaten over 2 miles, this daughter of Jeremy will have conditions in her favour and is a reasonable price to take down some well touted rivals.

    All the best

Gin On Lime is now with Henry De Bromhead, when did this switch happen and for what particular reason? Wasn't she with Jessie Harrington previously...

Someone on the forum had the hots for it for Cheltenham last season (maybe Pilgrim in his ante post book??). Yep went to Jessica Harrington after winning a juvenile hurdle in France quite impressively, came with a tall reputation and started off in a Grade 3 mares novices hurdle. Did OK but no cigar and was soundly beaten by Willie Mullins' Sapphire Lady on chase debut last month. Not sure why the move to De Bromhead (before her chase debut - perhaps given his reputation for teaching horses to jump a fence?) but it looks like Willie might have another tough nut for her to crack today.

Yes, unfortunately for my pocket it was me. She came with a lot of fame from France but did not meet the expectations at all.

Maybe this year I will have more luck.

I could be mistaken but was Pencilfuloflead (trained by Elliot now) formerly with Harrington as well? When I saw the name listed, I automatically assumed Jessie was training that one and similar with Gin N Lime. Perhaps the Robcour partnership have taken their horses from her yard and distributed them about to other trainers.

On today's race, Henry D Bromhead is certainly known for prepping one for fencing and he could work the oracle for GNL. I'm not convinced by the Mullins favourite at all, her conformation doesn't make me warm to her being a good jumper, but she is in the best hands in the country as far as that goes. It left me with the bet on Scarlet And Dove as I felt she may be value today, she is drifting slightly though so that is a concern given the yards fancied ones usually attract a little support. We shall see, nice race in prospect.

I couldn't see much else that would warrant a bet on this side of the water today, any standouts to you guy's?

I have been backing MVG for the darts world champs over the xmas and NY for the last month at prices of 7/2 and 3s. He has been out of form the last few months due to a back injury but is on his way back now. If he wins the Grand slam today those odds will likely shorten right down. He is usually slight odds on to win tournies. Good bet i reckon.

    Hi all...

Exeter 1.03pm Go Millie Go 13/8 win. Stable in good form, extra distance will help and assuming Gethings had choice on whether to ride this one or their runner at Uttoxeter. I am backing her to beat the Nicholls runner who was favourite this morning although looks like wont go off favourite now..

A late bet for me today, No Memory 7/1 - 2.00 Cork. Will relish the ground and should be placed at the very minimum. I'm backing win only so good luck if you decide to go with it.

Christ, thankfully that was up late and hopefully nobody got on. Horse's owner believed that was going to win today. Stone last throughout and never travelled a yard.

Finsihed a well held 2nd. Yukon Lil had a nice spin around from the front, never a moment of doubt really, Scarlet and Dove hit the top of the last three fences which didn't aid her cause but the fave did it well. Cork is a lovely fair track for a horse to begin chasing.

Gin On Lime disappointing again. Maybe a marked step up in trip might eek out an improved perforance.

Mare Quimby is a horse I had a few quid on last time just because of the name. I would be reasonably confident the name is a reference to Mayor Quimby from The Simpsons.

Diamond Joe Quimby is the Mayor of Springfield and once had a spat with Chief Wiggum, where the head of Police declared that he "Has photos of you Quimby" to which the Mayor replied "You don't scare me, that could be anyone's ass"

Anyway, Mare Quimby did it nicely last time and it looked like she might benefit a lot for the experience and I went with her again today at 11/4 to bring up the double.

    3.30 Navan Mare Quimby 11/4
