Must have been 1984 when this came out. I would have been in my last year of primary school and on the estate where I lived, the older kids would get strips of Lino out in the gardens in front of the flats and start popping and breaking. Remember this tune even as a 10 year old kid and this bassline has stuck with me forever since.
As it goes, I was. Was followed by one of the finest sets I've ever had the joy to witness; Primal Scream doing Screamadelica. Fuking epic. 1992.
Yes man ! Epic gig. ha thought you might have been there. I was tripping my tits off right through that festival. Met some crusties who I knew through a mate who were part of the KLF soundsystem who had been playing at some free parties before rocking up at Glastonbury. Screamadelica is a seminal album. As important as anything the Rolling Stones did imo.
This is for Pvt Gerard Hardy (old school friend) who was shot dead by friendly fire in 1980 in NI..."he never even made it to his 20s"
He was on reconnaissance in the border area with a more experienced and superior soldier and both of them were shot dead by another group of british soldiers by accident. I can imagine that things were pretty hairy around those parts then. I was talking to him not long before and he said that he wanted out... He was 18

The other soldier he was with was ranked higher I think but I agree he was young for such a dangerous mission.
I joined at 17 mate...But length of training, meant i never set foot on soil till i was, actually i was late 18s, so scrap this. A mere boy
