It terms of the takeover news the past 7 days or whatever it is since the news leaked in the media have been pretty quiet. Hopefully that’s a good sign.
Great post. Couldn’t of put it better myself. Smug even if I had good clothes on my dad always said I was like a sack of sh-te tied in the middle. It’s what you become that defines you.
Nah. Just 3 young lads who created our own gang. I can’t give you the formation as it’s a closely guarded secret. A bit like our forwards goal scoring ability
great picture and seen loads similar of my dad who went to school in Dipton, as the youngest of 8 he was always in hand me downs, never one of the well off but he always tells me it is isn’t what’s on the outside that matters but what’s on the inside. played golf when I was a young un with John stirk at the Hobson never realised till I was much older that he played football.
Count me in, I'll drink to them and also to my first son Gordon. He was born in Princess Mary's in Newcastle and only lasted a few days despite looking perfect. He would hold my finger tightly and I love him now, as I loved him then. Happy to raise a glass to you Gordon son, always with me.
great people on this thread, all with different things in their lives making them unique in their own ways. a very poignant yet rich tapestry, woven together with with red n white thread. I'm lying in my pit reading through it, 5 days after testing +ve, and its cheered me up to read the bonds of friendship being shown. its what SAFC fans are and always have been......very special.
a great hospital that was Smug, couldn't fault them they way they looked after my son and us. nothing was any trouble
I'd always hope sports day, for my elder brother and me, were on different days. We had one pair of plimsolls between us and he had fust dibs. If our sports day coincided I'd have to spend the day at Auntie Meggie's. When I see young hoodlums mugging someone, for their designer trainers, I could cheerfully stab them to death.
I’ve got 2 daughters 9 and 4 and I count my lucky stars they got here with no issues. First was born not breathing and it took a few mins to get her going. Absolute legends at the hospital got her sorted. my heart goes out to those that weren’t so lucky. It’s far too common an occurrence unfortunately.
It's always surprising what makes you sit up and reflect on things. I found that out when I read Grant Leadbitter's account of when his dad then his mam died and then realised that I did something similar (not the going out and playing football in front of thousands but how you react) which made me really think about things lately
Aye well have a look at that reflection and recognise what you have done since that point, raised your family and done well for yourself mate.
Apologies if this is intrusive, but what is your background. Growing up to be involved in these types of battles must have been something you were able to be in?
I'll raise a drink to all loved ones of people on here who are no longer on this earth. No matter how long they were with us, they are loved and missed.
Went to a few away games with them. Good laugh. Used to have a pound raffle on the bus to see how many were coming home.
