Think someone mentioned it earlier but are we to read anything in to there being no press conference today? Seems odd.

Sorry mate, had a busy week, saw this, meant to reply and then forgot <doh>

Did you manage to get sorted? I was going to say you'd be better off naming one of the committee (I'm just a bog standard rep, I'm not even listed on the website yet , so they wouldn't be impressed if they did any digging into me !) but sounds like you've made contact?

Its natural that everyone is on edge after what happened last time with FPP and the current owners need to take cognisance of that.

So much so that it only needs one negative post, either genuine or WUM e.g. "I've heard its off" , "SD is having second thoughts" and everyone plunges into total despair.

Unfortunately we are going to get more of those kind of wobbles until its finally announced.

If I was the stakeholders involved, I'd certainly be going for an early announcement of the key facts rather than waiting until they've recruited whoever they want. That could take ages.

I'm hoping the main difference to last time is Juan Sartori being more 'buyer' than 'seller' if that makes sense?
My opinion is that he's sick of SD & CM messing it up big style. That's why he's gone through his little black book for someone with the financial clout, mega wealthy contacts and huge love of football to team up with.
Sartori now has the extra motivation to push SD & CM to get the deal done. More so than when FPP were nearly there.
I don't 'hate' SD (it's a debilitating emotion), but I'll get quite close to it if he makes a mess of this chance.

To me Donald has to sell, even he can't be that stupid to **** it up again, but if he is he deserves everything that he's going to get for doing it.

His best legacy would be to sell and be the man who stopped us losing £20 million a year, stabilised us and handed us over to owners who could take us forward. That could give him an almost decent reputation as a football man who cares about the game, not as an out of his depth greedy ****ehawk most of us consider him as now.

He's risking not only losing the club to FPP for next to nothing, but also trashing his own reputation in wider business as someone unreliable and untrustworthy who makes a mess of things by trying to play hard ball when he's not in that position.

I heard fpp didnt like the hysteria about their buying the club, Donald getting carried away and the forum chatter didnt help however that's natural. Donald has 15pc so its win win - he had helped secure our next phase and I say fair play IF it pans out as we dream

Well, it seems that clubs like ours and the Stoke City's with millionaire owners are not going to receive any bailouts, at least not want they would like..there will be more to come on this one but i bet Donald will be sweating

In my experience, pre covid, press conferences for away games used to always be done on a Thursday and home games on friday. A lot of the time it was for logistical and travel reasons as the team would be on move on friday. But not sure same now in these ****y covid times as there will be less overnight stays etc. He'll probably be boring the arse out of us tomorrow

Might be clutching at straws but usually the home team does their press conference on a Friday and the away team on the Thursday. So far this season Parkinson has done his press conferences on the Thursday before all our away games. Probably nothing in it... But you never know (wishful thinking)

I get frustrated just like anyone else mate.

Donald has no further reason to be at this club and nothing more to offer. He had his chance and the support backed him to the hilt despite their suspicions and the previous years of failure.

But he's lost their trust, all momentum and probably the FPP loan. He stupidly claimed that was an investment in Mr Stewart Donald but will no doubt count it as our debt. He's no longer welcome in the town, nor is his ex-friend Mr Methven.

So, why does Donald cling on when he knows that even promotion wouldn't restore any good will, we shouldn't even be in this stinking division. Pride, ego and money is the only answer, hanging around like a sulky teenager with his hand out.

But there's a decent offer on the table and stringing out negotiations, for a few dollars more, isn't good for anyone. There's a January transfer window upcoming when we could energise the club abd rescue this dismal season.

Please just take the offer and go, you won't be missed.

If memory serves me right, in the 2nd series of STID, when his missus was telling him to sell the club, he was agreeing with her but there was a yes, but........ kind of thing going on. He knows that the whole thing is making his personal life hard but like everyone has stated, he'll never get a chance to make this kind of money again and I think that's been the problem when it comes to selling the club with him. He knows the potential of the club on the back of the fans and he knows what kind of money is available in the Premier League and he wants a slice of it all without actually doing the hard work to get there.
