It was real though and I suspect Mike simply wanted more than they wanted to pay... Sometimes the most obvious reason is the right one

There is a rumour going round that the fans legal challenge is backed by PIF who are to provide written evidence demonstrating their planned investment into the North East economy. That is why the QC barrister is involved. It demonstrates standing and impact of PL actions. We are talking billions.

If this is true (I’m skeptical) and it’s a two pronged approach is that even allowed?

Not a legal person but if PIF are involved in the consortium legal action and the nufc one then does that split the financial loss and improve the argument that a) nufc lost investment and b) the local area lost investment.

They couldn’t do it by one as it doesn’t cover both angles?

You know more legal stuff than me I just know numbers!

It depends on whether PIF are involved in both and the arguments. A two pronged attack would fail, so perhaps they are not involved in one of the actions. The main one may just be NUFC.

I am assuming that for a QC to be involved, standing has been established despite what the PL say. If not, the case will not go anywhere.

I have no idea mate. Legal is not my thing. It would have been more interesting if it was PIF directly who where instigating the legal challenges as that would indicate they where still at the table.

I just can’t help but think both legal cases are going to be fruitless.

Former manager whom many cling on hope that he returns to us is now 2/1 favourite to join another English team.

A Sheik who tried to buy us is now extremely close to buying a different team.

Of course its related to us.

If you're delusional and living actual years in the past. Sure.

You're chatting as if Rafa walked last week like Brian Clough did with Derby <laugh>

There was no player revolt mate, everyone just carried on. By many by the way, you mean you, yeah. I think everyone on here are gladly moving on and hoping for a complete change of philosophy.

BZG never lodged a bid, they don't use oil money and they certainly did not have the funds available to purchase a premier league club.

To be honest although I hate to admit it. There’s a chance it could be Rafa.

Club is defo going after them....
    https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/club-statement-19112020/

    "
“The Club has previously not commented on the arbitration it is pursuing against the Premier League (‘EPL’) with respect to its conduct relating to the proposed takeover because of the confidentiality clause in the EPL's rules.

"However, the Club is aware of public reports which state that, on 17 November, the EPL referred to legal proceedings with the Club (e.g. social media posts referring to the “Club’s own legal case”) in a letter to Newcastle supporters.

"The source of some of the reporting is said to be the EPL. It appears, therefore, that the EPL has leaked the contents of their letter to some of those commenting in the public domain.

"The Club understands that these will be matters of great concern to its fans and therefore considers that, in light of the information disclosed by the EPL, it has no choice but to respond and update its fans in response to this coverage.

"The Club makes no comment on the substance of the arbitration, but it can confirm that it has issued arbitration proceedings against the EPL.

"It is unclear when those proceedings will be resolved, given the approach of the EPL and its lawyers, Bird & Bird. Nevertheless, the Club will continue to use its best efforts to press for a fair, full and timely hearing of its claim.”
