What cannot be allowed by these potential new owners is the current situation with the playing staff to fester any long than it needs to.

I used to laugh at threads on there daily back in the early days and posted quite a lot. Once they changed it to Pure Football and SMB being separate boards it went downhill rapidly and I only post now and again nowadays.

    Me too mate.

I think it's obvious that Sartori and Dreyfus won't be spending too much time on Wearside.

They'll need people they can trust, at the club, and who'll be able to make decisions. But they'll also need some sensible local knowledge which is where someone like Jones, O'Brien, etc could help.

The support is what makes us different to other lower league clubs and that needs to be properly 'managed' ...

... after the PR disaster of Methven we need a real link at the club.

Who knows mate. I just found it odd that it's a consortium, yet this article was going on like a 22 year old had bought the club to run on his own. Its funny how his age is a concern to so many, yet when people in their 40s and 50s buy a club and fail miserably, that's fine. look at the **** show here for the past 2 years.

I totally concur with you there Smug, the damage this bloke has done is unbelievable, I think we would need a big figure say an ex manager/player to be the link between the club and the fans

I am not saying podcasts every week, but someone who has something about them, someone in the Quinn mould to really provide a much needed uplift between the fans and the club, we also have to remember the damage this has all done to our future young supporters, we need to try and get the next generation on board to keep up our brilliant fan base.

This I know first hand, I left the NE in 88 to join the Army, when my son was born he was decked out in Red & White, took him to a few games when he was older, but unfortunately it was in our 15 point season when he was around all the Man Utd and Chelsea fans of the time he switched over to Man Utd and has been a supporter ever since, much to my dismay, but you can see what damage can be done.

SMB is still decent for a read now and then but pure football isn't that good, I think it's probably inevitable due to the amount of people that use it. Anyone saying anything moderate or being quite respectful ends up ignored so everyone ends up saying things that will get a response.

French supporters seem to be getting behind Dreyfus ....

"Bonne Chance Kyril.... un vrai passionné de foot!"
(Good luck son, yer love yer football.)

"Le gamin adore le foot....il veut investir dans sa passion.Bravo. Vas y petit ...et fais les tous taire !!!"
( The lad loves his football, he's hoying his money into his passion, get it done lad.)

"Il a été élevé dans un monde de requin il faudra maintenant aiguise ses dents."
(He was brought up in a world of sharks, time to bite a few arses.)

And they've been watching Sunderland in France ...

"Sunderland till I die Vous avez vu le série sur Netflix?"
    (Haway the Lads!!!)

It's not far fetched to think that if Kyril is football mad, and is used to the Marseille support, he has watched Sunderland 'til I die and thought "that'll do for me". I reckon he'll have thought it in French, but you get my jist.

Basically it may not just have been a case of Juan selling us to him. Sunderland 'til I die has brought us to folk who normally would see us as just some club in England.
