Villa was really our 'biggest test' so far this season theoretically imo. Villa are only a point behind Spurs and, most importantly, they had the away advantage. Good teams turn their home grounds into fortresses, but we handled Villa comfortably and really should have had a win.

Spurs are a good side, but we have a good record against them, we're full of confidence and we have the home advantage whilst they never do travel well up here. For those reasons, I can't see why Spurs should be considered our biggest test. Sure, they might win, but I can't see why we should fear them more than most teams.

Don't know why everyone is so arsed about what others think, insecurity perhaps.

If we had better full backs, I wouldn't be as worried about this game as I am now. I still think we can win but they will be a tough test!

While the lucky stuff makes me laugh, I think this is our toughest test so far. I don't like the line "real test" though. Surely it would only be the real test if our aspirations involved finishing in the top 4-6 where Spurs are. Given we're supposed to be relegation candidates, I'd say we've already passed our "real test" by virtue of ouir results against teams we're more likely to be competing with

I agree. Fans of other teams are looking for us to be tested for our top 4 position, which in a sense is credit in itself.

We're up there with the big boys, and in the eyes of most, our testing games aren't against the mid-table clubs we should be fighting with, but our testing games are against the likes of Spurs and other top 4/5 clubs.

I'd say it's fair really. When you talk the talk, you have to walk the walk. The top 6 clubs would all expect to give each other a very hard time, so we're being looked at to do the same.

I'm just waiting for the "that's them ****ed" when we lose a game. The negative media juggernaut will go into overdrive. I can't believe the lack of credit for our results even if I'm not bothered. You offer anyteam outside the top 6 15 points from the games we've played and they'd snap your ****ing arm off!

I think we will win this one and if we do everyone will start to take notice. I just hope we put in a really good performance infront of the sky cameras.

If we beat Spurs, the 'experts' will say well they still haven't played the Manchester clubs...

I think we could get a point at home to anyone if the crowds up for it.

Wouldn't be surprised, did you see earlier if both us and Arsenal get the same results from now until the end of the season and the same amount of points of the promoted clubs as the teams they replaced then we'll only be 7 points behind them. Now surely the way both teams have started suggests that gap should only get lower <laugh>.

Hahaha! Its hard to see how Arsenal will do this year - its natural to think they will end up being top 6 at least because they are Arsenal, but can't see them stopping conceding goals
