My point was, people blame the manager(s) constantly, when most of the time it's the players. Then its easy to say tactics, formations were at fault. That was all
Don’t worry about that, it’s a lot further ahead, hopefully an official announcement with in the next week
Should start getting some concrete info about who else is involved in the next few days then hopefully
That would be great news. Although as long as it’s before the January window is the key thing for me. Hopefully they can have a new manager lined up and targets identified ready.
As far as I'm aware everything is agreed and, subject to the deal being ratified, there's only the announcement to come. Ive been told that a 'cover all' statement is preferred. Sadly that's all I've been told, just those few words. I'm just like everyone else so guessing at what that means. My guess is that, rather than announcing a buyout, they want to announce the consortium details, DOF and, fingers crossed, a new manager. Otherwise it's just new owners and very little else, which won't give us the momentum that we desperately need.
I was just about to ask what a ‘cover all’ statement is, then read further down your post. Whatever it is, I’m excited about it
Either of them would do me mate. Would like to see SKP back as a coach, so he can show our strikers/midfielders where the friggin' net is, and actually practice shooting and the art of how to lose a man in the oppositions box.
Thought it might be that it's done and cleared EFL, but if they also announce the other bits too, that'll be amazing.
The January window will be extremely quiet for us. I cant imagine we have much, if any of the salary cap remaining. There isnt going to be a lot of willing takers either. The one big move any new owner with cash to spend would be to pay Parkinson off and bring a manager in capable of getting the best out of these players
Maybe the new owners have the financial clout to challenge this salary cap. I cannot see how it can be legal.
Would they risk sanctions/points deductions though? Its looks fairly air tight to me. Everyone seems to have complied with it
Did I imagine it or are under 21s exempt? If that's the case no reason we couldn't have a busy window. There's also more than a few we could pay up to bugger off.
They are not included in the salary cap so its an avenue to explore. With the sheer volume of games in the upper leagues apparently going to be difficult to get loans or signings in January but I would be inclined to take risks on younger talent from abroad if possible.
Is there not a couple of options at least within the rules- 1- Pay off players, severance payments don’t count 2- Promotion bonuses don’t count 3- bring in U21 players, again these don’t count 4- how close are we? I thought existing contracts over and above the 1700 weekly average, only counted as 1700 until the contract is renewed?
