Maybe. But I think the vaccine distribution will be underway by then. Perhaps one more collective effort to stifle the spread while vaccinations continue into February & March. Then we can begin to get our freedoms and lives back
I concede that is possible. A Christmas under full lockdown will be very difficult for many. Only the hope and promise of a vaccine rolling out can counter the unpopularity of such a measure.
I made my prediction a few days ago. Out of lockdown for December to prevent civil unrest then back in straight after New Year. I am sticking to that.
Bad luck for Boris - meets with an MP who shows Coronavirus symptoms the next day... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-54956076 The PM is isolating in Downing Street (in more ways than one now). The meeting was yesterday, so it looks like Dominic Cummings and the contents of his cardboard box were not exposed to anything worse than a little public ridicule. But - let's face it - that wouldn't matter either way to him. Pandemic rules are just for the little people, right Mr Cummings? DC publicly undermines support for the (first) lockdown rules and public trust in the Government, something that has probably made infection rates worse and cost lives, and Boris praises and supports him. Then DC privately insults the Prime Minister's partner - and he's out on his ear.
Really bizarre post Lardi. Let’s not start the political knocking so beloved of a certain ex pat on here who can give it out but can’t take it back. Otherwise I will join in. Banter among pals is fine but some of this is tiresome.
If you and DC are mates and what I said about him personally offended you, then I apologise. I don't know him, and my 'knocking' of the man is purely based on his flagrant disregard for the lockdown rules, and his contempt for the common people who obeyed them, often at great personal cost. However if he is a friend of yours, out of respect for you I won't comment on him again.
Getting tired of the snide remarks Royston. Remind me who it was flounce off in March saying the forum had degenerated given the level of posters on it? Or was 'you lost get over it' a mature political debate?
