Did anyone see Look North tonight... They did some filming in Beverley on Saturday, showing shops flouting the rules to stay open... (maybe claiming furlough as well don't you think)... also showed a gallery in Lincoln who were allowed to stay open because they were selling toilet roll and tea bags and a gift shop selling take away coffee, but the only way you could order was to pass the gifts so they were for sale too.... ****ing madness...
This massive spike deserves a thread of its own. Even tonight, plenty of people out and about in pairs, groups etc.....still not heeding warnings. Can't see it coming down any time soon on that basis.

Speaking to a friend tonight who's sister works in Tesco's on Beverley Road, when asking foreign customers to wear a mask she was spat at when refusing to serve them...@!!! Just as a side note people, re masks, the blue ones are good for about an hour, KN 95 masks about 2 hours, they should then be binned.
The owner of my local shop was telling me on Sunday, that she still has loads of blokes who come in without masks (none of them foreign). There’s a local building site and the lads all come to get their lunch and every one of them claims to be exempt as they’re asthmatic. I think they’ve now finally figured out, no mask, no lunch. We’re surrounded by dipshits.

People in HU thought COVID risk was overstated from March to 10 days ago.. 6 months of being told it's deadly be real careful etc...and there was very little of it around, unlike other parts of Britain. Not unnaturally, people took the warnings with a pinch of salt after so many weeks of very low infection. We must be among the last towns or cities to have a bad outbreak. Steven Brady's cry for help made BBC national news but didn't have the weight of Andy Burnham or Joe Anderson. Important week to 10 days coming up for this city.

Saw the same thing with a gang of builders in a small shop in Driffield the other week. I am asthmatic and have COPD but can wear a mask goingninto shops and around supermarkets. People doing physical jobs reckon they can't wear a mask for a few minutes though. Dipshits indeed.

A shop owner has the right to serve, or not serve, anyone, as they see fit. She’s actually genuinely asthmatic and wears a mask all day, every day, so has little time for thirty blokes who seem to all work on asthmatic-only building site, they’re quite obviously taking the piss. Spitting at people is done more by some nationalities who ****** it differently than we do. Italians for one. And some Eastern European ones.
