Because he's already there, and knows the EFL processes he'd be good to have at this current time. The whole back room needs sorting out, and eventually that means replacing Rodwell too, as you'd want the very best people possible in each position.
The fact that Parkinson is talking about 'the new owners' means that's how the current owners have put it. That should stop the clowns who keep insisting this is nothing more than investment or whatever ... ... it won't though
Right guys, don't shoot the messenger. NQD has just messaged me the below. It's an interesting take as it's completely different even to those saying "it's not a takeover". To paraphrase, he's saying this is just leaked from inside the club and isn't as advanced as anybody thinks.

Yes,but,in all this upheavel in our club,yet again,I'm hoping a management structure is put into place for the long term. I'm totally pissed off with the misery resulting from short term targets being missed and being replaced by more short term targets.....inevitably also missed.Ellis Short..10 years!! I know no-one is going to listen to me,but,if I had the chance to talk to KLD and JS, I would urge them to take a longer term view on the whole thing. On the football side....which after all is our business,we need a Shankly,who's going to come to the club and impose his philosophy on it, from the Academy intake to the first team,where everyone in the club is schooled in, and buys into, the same aims. And when he goes,a seamless transfer to a Paisley.....ironically one of Sunderlands' greatest football sons! We need a Sunderland model! All the infrastructure is in place......fantastic stadium and academy, capacity can be increased at minimal expense if required, totally pissed off and starved of any decent football for years fanbase,just jumping at the chance to get going again,ready to fill the stadium loud and proud. Can you imagine the cry........We Are Sunderland and We Are Back!
Quite probably that mate. Add in Tony Davidson leaving the way he did as well. I definitely get the feeling that things were unravelling behind the scenes last year before the FPP takeover collapse happened. I think they may have started out with good intentions and to genuinely take the club forward, but for going on close to 2 years now there's been repeated mistakes, compounded by more mistakes. I don't think they started out wanting to lie to us, but made statements they couldn't deliver on, and with fans as demanding (in a good way) as ours they were called out on it, which lead to them becoming "economical with the truth", thinking it would get us off their backs for a bit instead of being honest and open, but it didn't and they kept getting called out, so they became a bit more "economical", and as my old grandmother used to say, little lies beget bigger lies which beget even bigger lies. Its ended up with them boxed into a corner, the relationship with the fans totally destroyed, no one believes anything they say or do, anything good they did is now forgotten or dismissed, anything they do or say treat with suspicion and a hell of a lot of questions unanswered that won't go away anytime soon.
Jeez. Nowt like bursting the bubble is there. Just hope our regular ITKs can update us all with better news.
He claims due diligence hadn't been done yet, but L'equip are saying its hoped for the takeover to be concluded in early December, which us 2 and a bit weeks away (which backs up Wheatsheaf's earlier statements), and that this bid has only been on the table for 4 weeks. Sorry, but it's bollocks from him to twist it to keep himself relevant because his insistence that nothings happening has been blown out of the water.
If someone said to me.......you have a choice to take Smug,Prehab,Wheatsheaf,Magnus and Hawayatt,....or NQD,....I know where my money would go!

Don't know about some of the NQD content but it should be clear to everyone that NB was fed bullshit back when he first gave his two penneth in July or whenever it was, and this new guy was definitely not the supposed group in an exclusivity period as Barnes mentioned. It was clearly to calm down the fans following the release of the RAWA meeting minutes. In fact Barnes talked about no need for DD or EFL approval and it would be a fairly quick process. All of this now being released would back up that this new guy has only came on the scene recently.
Yeh - to be clear I don't believe a word he's saying. It is a timely reminder to myself however that nothing is signed and in fact we aren't even as advanced as things got last summer with FPP, so perhaps I need to reign in my excitement slightly.
