i was given a rumour yesterday that the DOF is Wenger and new manager is Henry. probably rubbish but i'd be happy with that if true.
A decent journalist would have been hammering these parasites day in day out, bit like they done with the Mags and Ashley. We have been systematically ripped to bits and ruined over the last 2 years and local journalists have just about sat back and watched it happen without comment. Nah, no decent journalists from a sunderland point of view in my book.
Takeovers generally mean change in manager. If he hasn't been told, history tells him his time is limited.
I was told by a very close friend who was a sports journalist at the time when they were covering a training session that he actually asked if they had any fresh ideas because he couldn’t do any more with the team
Cheers mate for the link! Obviously the young man has no link with Sunderland...but has an interest in football..
I have no faith in Parkinson getting us promoted. With him, his steady and generally cautious style means we'll be harder to beat but lack the guile and ambition to win enough games to go up automatically. We'd probably be in and around the playoffs with him but nothing more. Saturday was a prime example, a big opportunity to take the bull by the horns and go second with a win, yet Parkinson talked about setting up to stop MK Dons playing out from the back - a side who had not won away since September 2019. This has been us in a nutshell in this division, managers lacking the stones to go for it and it means we squander these opportunities to get into the top two time and time again. We need a manager that wants to go and win, not one who is content with stopping teams playing and trying not to get beat.
Parkinson runs up the white flag which just encourages teams to attack ... ... it's absolutely shameful even when we win.
All I can say about Sartori is that there's been rumours for ages the he and Donald had a major fall out and if true it could explain his lack of involvement. I first heard it last summer when talking to a mate of mine about Campbells supposed takeover and my mate said "apparently they (Sartori and Donald) have fallen out". A few weeks later I heard similar things from other people and a lot of it points to sometime between the Checkatade and the play offs that they fell out. It may be as you say he didn't trust Donald to run things by that point so wouldn't invest anymore while he was in charge, or maybe he wanted to get involved but Donald sidelined him. Or there could be other reasons, but whatever they are I'd say its clear that Donald's influence will be massively reduced to the point he's irrelevant because he just doesn't have enough personal relationships with people or a large enough shareholding to influence them.
