they’d be mad like to ask him to leave. Would be bad PR for a start with the fans. He could return to his NED role being paid very little but link the club to sky sports and the fan base.
I'm pretty sure Rodwell was brought in to provide some continuity but he'll be strictly admin from now on. His arrival coincided with the start of the Dreyfus/Sartori negotiations ... ... you could speculate that it's not simply a coincidence. Rodwell knew, for a fact, that the club was for sale before he arrived.
That can only be good news for the club. A big shake up is long overdue and if the foundations are put in place properly, there's only one way the club will go.
If we get these key appointments right then no reason why we couldn't do what, Leicester, Wolves and Leeds have done having been in this god awful division.
I think one key point from that article is why would Kyril be involved in recruitment if this was not already agreed? It sounds like it’s all done but they are just putting all their people in place prior to an announcement.
People seriously convince themselves that Dreyfus is self financing, at enormous cost, Donald and Methven to carry on as if nothing's changed. Absolute madness.
I think the funniest part is that the mood hoovers seriously believe that a 2 bit insurance salesman is going to tell a couple of billionaires what to do. It's fairly obvious that Sartori was not happy with the way SD was running things and thought enough's enough
You've got it in one mate. The club has been dreadfully run, the owners have vanished and there appears to be no plan whatsoever. Some people appear to believe Dreyfus should turn up, wave a scarf and then start thinking about how to run the club. In reality the first announcement needs to be something to engage the supporters, regain some momentum and give us something to believe in. Anything vague would see the doom vultures swoop and tear it to pieces.
Only part I don’t like in the northern echo article is the part about the academy and where they are to decide if it is to remain cat 1 status. To me not doing that would give off the worst possible vibe to a fresh start that you can get. I hope that is completely wrong. It’s one of the most important things to get right.
I doubt most fans would give a **** to be honest. Most only care about who is on the pitch and what they are doing
He'll remain until his replacement is lined up ... ... someone already employed is what I've been told.
The article itself just states they will have to decide what to do with him. Doesn't actually mention he will stay.
It has to be like mate. It would not be the greatest of starts to a new regime to keep a manager 90% of the fans want shot of. Would show a total lack of ambition straight away imo
