This went well. Very spiritually enlightening. I didn’t realise volleying someone’s dog across the road formed part of this festival, but every day is a school day.
I believe that Diwali is celebrated in the same way as Christmas, ie decorating homes, family gathering, feast and the addition of fireworks. Not sure the government have really thought this one through, trying to kick the virus in touch, in the hope of families being able to gather on the 25th Dec, while Diwali festivities have had no allowances made that I know of, unless anyone knows differently? Anyway if they do ignore the rules and celebrate, much in the same way I expect many Christians to in December, then I hope the cops use some commonsense.
Was at a petrol station today buying some shizz and a guy, indian I think, came in looking sharp in I presume his diwali stuff. He bought ice creams and was askin the guy "do you sell ice cream in a cone?" The guy only spoke Norwegian "ka??" Which is local dialect for "what?" So, I decided to go over and translate for my struggling immigrant bro "har du soft is i kjeks" Thats my diwali experience of the year.
