I blame Parkinson for bringing some of these players to the club, I blame him for not bringing in pace and a proven goal scorer in the two windows that he has had at the club, I blame him for late, cowardly substitutions and for yesterdays team selection, but he can’t be blamed for the individual errors, poor decision making and lack of effort in games, the players have to take full responsibility for that. Whoever he is replaced with will have the same players to work with until they have had a couple of windows to get their own squad together. I want rid of Parkinson as soon as possible but only when the new owners/DOF are in place. Knee jerk responses to a couple of poor results could see us drop further behind the top two and scupper any automatic promotion ambitions that we have.
I'm sure the new owners have had discussions about who they want as manager, they may already have someone lined up. We could get a double announcement, new owners and manager on the same day.
I am one of the "village idiots", but I have explained my thoughts in this thread. There wasn't a third choice to get rid when the new owners come in which would me my preferred option.
Yesterday was the final straw for me. When it was apparent that hed take us into this season and said I'd give him a chance, 5-10 games. I think fortunate wins against Peterborough, Gillingham and Ipswich thanks to penalties have papered over the cracks and actually has us in a false position. Its obvious to me that we wont be promoted with Parkinson so he has to go
When is the right time? When we fail to win promotion again. The fact is, we are dreadful and have been lucky with a lot of our wins this season. The only reason we won our last 2 games was because the other team was down to 10 men. Terrible appointment which should never have been made in the first place. Let just hope the takeover is further along than we think and the new lad is calling the shots from now on. Two tough away games coming up and I can’t see us picking a point up in either with this clown in charge.
We're still in a good position. Our strikers are letting us down but the rest of the team is playing well. Until new owners are confirmed, and even then, new manager would have to deal with salary cap and everything else. Doesn't mean I'm happy with parky, just not sure we could do any better. Any available managers better than pp who would want to come? Would a better manager be able able to do any better given the circumstances? I'm not convinced. (edit: poyet had said he would like a 2nd go at it, would he be better than parky?) We've been changing managers every season last 10 years, and it hasn't worked. Get the new owners in, hope they can get the club setup right from top to bottom then think about changing the manager otherwise it'll just be rinse and repeat for the foreseeable future.
I’m finding it hard to vote because my option would be ‘as soon as we have lined up a better option that fits with our new owners strategy’. I realise it’s unlikely that would ever be a button option so I’ll stay neutral for now. I do want him out but not some **** caretaker or another even ****ter manager basically.
how have you came to that conclusion, the whole team are playing ****e because they’re not bothered and played out of position
I dispute this - mostly because they aren't allowed to play well with the most salient example of this was playing 09 at centre back yesterday. Not only are his starting team picks beyond mysterious but he is unwilling or unable to use substitutions to change the team for the better, he sticks with the same style and then makes either like-for-like or reinforces the defensive nature of his starting line up. Added to the fact that he is like a stuffed dummy on the sidelines and you have got to wonder how he expects to influence his team to up their game during a match. Yes, new ownership is a problem, but without action this is going to be another write-off season. Even in a fixed term contract you can be fired for incompetence - and that is what Parky deserves. Now is the time to fire him and bring someone else in on contract until the end of the season. Someone who can set the team up to attack and keep the likes of MK Dons penned into their half, too busy defending to even consider a quick break. The new owners can call it a consultancy exercise - just to see if a good manager can actually get anything out of these players before the transfer window.
I just mean they can go either way and we have been quite lucky that most of them have benefited us. Yesterday we had most of the second half to get a goal after that and he did f all to make it happen...
