I have a way of making them nice that a whiskey expert showed me. The whiskey is chilled in the fridge you run your glass under hot water and pour the chilled whiskey into the hot/very warm glass. Magic happens.

There is a Welsh whisky called Peneryn as well . i'm sure i've got one stashed somewhere that someone gave me as a present years ago 7 have never got round to drinking .
not sure tbh cos i can'r remember where i stashed it when we moved here but knowing the person who gave it me it will be the bog standard one I really should spend a bit of time and find it .
My wife's grandad was from the valley's, it was one of his requests, that we toasted him with Penderyn, someone got reprimanded by his nephew for not pronouncing it correctly. Would like to try their portwood one.
mmm think i may need to search in readiness for Christmas though booze aint goint to be as big a problem as getting hold of food by the looks of it .
