Off Topic Obscure (but good) 80s pop songs

For obscure read ****.

The 80's was generally pretty bad for pop music.

But there were a few little gems here and there to be found.

 

One of the most important songs of the 80's but it ain't pop music bro.

 

One thing the 80's did really well was soul/disco and a lot of that crossed into the mainstream pop culture.

And the 80's also did Electro/pop really well in those early days when Hip Hop was just breaking into the mainstream.

 

I'm gonna call that Indie.

If we're talking obscure 80's pop. Then this lady probably paved the way for loads of female pop/funk tunes in the 80's

Trying to slate this thread and 80s pop, but then embracing it like a pop slut.

 

It's true.

Some good tunes, but they were more from the dance/electro/soul/funk genres.

**** like Nik Kershaw should have been burned with Napalm.

 

That's why I want obscure gems.

 

Nowt obscure about this, but I bet HiaG can't play Sax, even though he tends to blowie his own flute a lot
