What's that supposed to mean, I hope it's not my funeral as well? Yes it's easy to say celebrate when it doesn't affect you directly but I'd like to think that regardless of what life or death throws at me or my family we're strong enough to move on and make the most of life. I've had my share of the bad moment mate lots of people have.
So the Buddhist funerals for those that dont know now I dont know if it’s a special one for Monks or everyone They tie the deceased hands behind his back and tie feet together so the deceased is in a forward crouched position. Then the Monk puts some cuts in the back of the body. This is all taking place in an open ceremonial site. Thers a load of vultures that live off their and it’s their job to eat the body so once cut up they come and eat it leaving the skeleton. The monk proceeds to smash the skeleton up with a tool and the vultures come and finish it off It’s their belief that we come from nature so we return to it and this is how they deal with it. just a rough description from what I recall..no doubt there is much more depth to it.
I get where your'e coming from there mate but after 9/10 months a bit of something to lift spirits is probably the greatest thing that can happen for most. Death happens all day every day, lately we have had a bit more of it and people living in fear of it (rightly or wrongly), I am pretty sure you are a lot like me, your day to day life hasn't changed much (if at all, mine hasn't) but you have been restricted from seeing people you really care about/love. look on the bright side, since we got covid we have had no deaths from lung cancer, liver disease, kidney disease or old age, it's a miracle cure
Just trying to be edgy i think On topic people take this religion stuff far too seriously. I'll happily remain pagan.
I’m with Luv you got to face this lockdown ****e with strength...it’s better for your immune system anyway. Keep the spirits up and stay in touch with those that need company be nice...don’t be Comm
It doesn't have to be mass gathering people can celebrate it within their family group just like Christmas.
A cry, Hope you don't get covid again and it ends you , at a social gathering then. You say you had it, yet forget the 50k dead?
I also imagine that family groups getting together is probably less of a risk that the very British attitude of going to the pub as an essential activity.
Fckin hell Diego, I didn't know you were that old! A lot of hindu festivals seem to be about a festival of colour. Pretty cool.
