Coming from Leicester I'd say yes ... we sold our off licence to an Indian family back in the 80s and they would pop round to see my old girl every Diwali with food based treats until she passed away ... lovely family. <ok>

Love hearing things like this, it happens a lot and never gets told.
People who respect others are far too few on this planet.

Don’t cry mate...just prove me wrong

Christmas has removed itself from its tradition’s...it’s all about the spend. Diwali or other traditional celebrations remain a bit closer to their roots.

in your head it always becomes a them against us...you’re very insecure. If I did a psychological breakdown I’d have you in tears but cba I’m watching bake off

Therefore it’s not from Jesus...if Jesus created Christianity then he created everything within it. Even though much of Christianity is attributed to Paul but that’s another debate...actually it’s not..it’s same debate I just cba...this is heavy **** for my Friday night...I’m going to bun a spliff...crack that wine bottle open and chill the fk out Fosse

Neither date means anything, Jesus (allegedly) was born in September if my memory serves me.
The Pagans celebrated the winter solstice (21/12) as they did the summer solstice (21/6).

Whenever I came back from Uni I'd pop up to the shop to get a few beers etc ... as soon as they knew I was back Kula (spelling) the wife would send the kids down to my mum's with some fresh baked pastries (they were veggies) coz she knew I loved Indian food ...

On the other side of it, my old girl helped their kids with their English, they would pop down for a couple of hours a week ... not for any reward I might add ... she just enjoyed the company ... nice memories.
