Well, i know we have many Christians, Muslims and atheists on here but do we have any Hindus or Sikhs?

Only asking because i know a fair bit about Christian festivals being brought up with them and also a fair bit about Muslim festivals due in part to Spurly and (****ed if i can remember his name) posting the Ramadan threads (plus i work with/for a lot of Muslims in my job).
I know absolutely **** all about Hindu/Sikh festivals, shocking to some maybe, but honest.

How big a thing is Diwali and is it still a real thing (not meant to be derogatory) or is it like Christmas, just a spending spree and a time to see family/friends that you don't see often.

If we have any Hindus on here i would like to wish you a happy and fulfilling Diwali starting tomorrow :emoticon-0150-hands

It’s a massive thing for Hindus

    colours, fireworks the whole shbang

but they don’t hire super cars and roll around on Wimmy road like the Muslimz

My best mate through high school was a hindu...2 of his sisters were bare fit...when I think back I think subconsciously that’s why he was prolly my best mate.

    I dunno

everyone deserves a celebration...forget Comm having a moan about nothing

I get that, what i am asking is doe's it still carry the original meaning to most.
Christmas is now literally a money spinner for most with the new year sales to follow.
Still great for getting the family together though.

yeah..not being funny but Christmas is a joke celebration.

traditionally for Christians yet certainly not something invented by Jesus and nowadays celebrated by Pagans.

Hindus will be celebrating it traditionally...in their Temples, at home, families etc. Obviously COVID affected this year no doubt

Christmas was originally a pagan festival (4 day's earlier), the Christians highjacked it to kick pagans out.
