I didn't think they had, but turns out they finally did last week, happy days for them, a return to their spiritual home.
I’d be lying if I said I’d never hoped an oppo player might tweak a muscle or pick up a suspension before we played them, to weaken their side, but there’s a world of difference between that and hoping to see an oppo player get a bust leg, or do a cruciate, or tear an Achilles etc, as they’re potential career enders and so that’s beyond the pale for me. Anyone who celebrates a player getting an injury like that, is a bit of a **** for me.
Agree which is also why anyone who goes in to cause such an injury is an utter scummy ****. Mind you, that sort of thinking seems to have changed over the past 50 years.
It’s still there, it’s just got far less, as players know there’s umpteen camera angles to review it.
In general I don't care enough if a rival player gets an injury. Don't feel sorry for them nor do I revel in it. Can't lie though that there's been one or two over the years who I'd have had jelly and ice cream at the ready had they gotten a cruciate knee ligament injury in each leg. Charlie Adam was one of those.
Yeah I've often hoped a player will be pick up a knock to miss a game against us but never would wish serious injury on a player.
