That's funny. I thought that the last three games were supposed to define our season on another thread. Or maybe it was the first four? I forget!

7 points is my prediction....I reckon our amazing home record could come unstuck against West Ham. Tevez hatrick in a 4-3 defeat! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    We'll beat Reading away. Again.

Draw @ Derby and draw with Wet Spam. 'Boro is unpredictable right now.

I'll say 10pts, 3 wins and a draw against 'Boro. Don't see why we should lose any really, because squad for squad we're as strong as any team out there.

I can't agree with that. West Ham are easily the best on paper.

Fair enough Joey B, Hammers have got a good squad that probably does edge us on quality, but they concede goals so I think we have the fire power to turn them over. Derby and Boro are the 2 teams I think we might struggle against because they have been pretty tight defensively. If they can also stifle the midfield, we could struggle like we did against Burnley and Cardiff.

I'd take 6 points from these 4 games (though I'm aiming for 7), but I'd prefer it if they came via 1 win and 3 draws, than 2 wins and 2 defeats.

We get 6 points either way, but the opposition get a total of 3 points with the first scenario and a total of 6 points with the second.

Best individuals on paper. That's what a brilliant manager and coaching staff can overcome. Plus a large dollop of confidence, borne of winning.

I was responding to his comment. Or squad is not as strong as theirs. So far this season our team has been the strongest.

my thought behind the initial comment was if we come through the next 4 games with no losses or only one i think the players will then really believe along with fans that would could be in the promotion fight for the season and not just a good start,,these next 4 teams are to my mind the serious promotion candidates

It really depends. If you look at this a different way and said lookinging at the league table that we'd draw with West Ham, Reading away, Derby away and Middlesborough, I think we'd say "ok, that's not too bad after 4 tough games". But if I post an answer here of 4 points from the next 4 games, I'd get slaughtered. So, 6 points (win away to Derby and then three draws).

i forsee a defeat amongst them, although i cant quite pin where it will come, think we could win all 4 of those matches but they will all be tough affairs. gut tells me maybe a defeat to derby, win at reading, draw to hammers and narrow boro victory.

when we have faced boro and west ham, if our home record is still intact after that - or even unbeaten - then i think that will show us more than enough to say we will be right up there this year.

i said a while ago that the back to back away games we had would say if we are ready and 1 point from them suggested maybe not - however the way in which we bounced back to thrash watford and the fact that the rest of the league is still yet to pan out tells me that these 4 games are quite telling so i do agree.

I think we can beat anyone on our day, so we needn't fear any team. We have lost a couple of games recently, but could have drawn or won them. These four teams have also lost points recently which is why we are league leaders (how nice that sounds). It all depends on how these teams decide to tackle us. If they are uber-confident, they will go for it and hopefully give us space (most likely in away games). Six points would be good, but in some ways 5 points (1 win, 2 draws) may be better as only 1 team will gain points on us.

    Hull Fan in peace

I could see you beating Derby and reading with a draw with Middlesbrough and get beat by West ham

Good look for the rest of the season :)

Well I said at begining of the month 6 points would make me think we could be in top 6 but after these games and not losing and the way we are playing I now believe we could be in the top 2,, Never felt so confident in a saints team. Strange feeling after years of doubt and abject bloodly misery,,,
