of course he is but he's more limited on the ground with the ball than anything else.

    Alisson
    williams Matip Phillips Robertson
    Henderson Fabinho Thiago
    Salah firmino mane.

Jota to come on, milner to cover williams if required. Wijnaludum to comin into CM. Not to mention keita.

We nee dot give ourselves a bit of a shake here cos leicester had 4 out and went top. depening on the next stupid pointless internationals the team above just misses two top top players with one just out for 4 weeks.

We just took 2 point off city's total from the last 2 years lads. How bad can it be :)

    "cheer up charlie"

If those players are available, Fabinho plays CB alongside Matip

Up until recently I'd have agreed with you, but a couple of decent performances from Phillips means he just might get the nod.

Still think Fabinho plays ahead of Nat; although I'd play Williams ahead of Nat too, really impressive in the CL.

Klopp's already shown he doesn't want to drop any of the front four so maybe the 424 is a longer vision...

    Alisson
    Williams - Matip - Fabinho - Robbo
    Hendo - Thiago
    Jota - Salah - Bobby - Mane

no pace in that back line at all. Vardy will have a field day if they play too high....Again, if we play 4-2-3-1 whoever plays forward left and right will have to track back effectively or we’ll be totally over run in midfield. Both the City goal and Penalty came about because of this. Am hopeful that Thiago is fit.

Would def have Williams or Fabinho ahead of Phillips for this game.

Phillips would be a good option against teams like Burnley where it’s going to be a lot more physical like the West Ham game. Think Williams has a bit more about him when it comes to a foot race, seems to have a bit more pace to him.

I would play Neco RB with Fab and Matip as the CBs.

It's not ideal but we need experience at the back. Gini Hendo Thiago in midfield.

Which is why we should go back to 433 with Thiago as the 6 and Gini on the left, Hendo on the right. Gini and Hendo to support the full backs, and let Thiago feed the attackers.

    Agreed...

    Alisson
    Williams - Matip - Fabinho - Robbo
    Hendo - Thiago - Wijnaldum
    Salah - Bobby/Jota - Mane
That's the setup we should be going for if they're all available. I'd opt for Jota over Bobby but don't think Klopp will.

That system exposed our high line even when we had fast and brilliant defenders....but we would create much more. So if you have a weak heart, it’s not for you. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy the rollercoaster. I think that Klopp will stick with 4-2-3-1

Good point - the problem we're now facing is that our defence has to sit deeper. By sitting deeper, we're creating a larger gap between attack and defence. By creating the bigger gap, it means pressing becomes more difficult because there is more space to cover. The 4231 will help to narrow that space.

I think stick to the 433 but everyone drop 10-15 yards. The space may widen between attack and midfield but this is where Thiago is crucial.

This is my attitude now. It was always going to be difficult to retain the title, and it's even more so now. I'm just going to try and enjoy seeing how we cope with this adversity. In some ways the pressure is off now, because the burden of expectation on a fully fit squad would have been much greater.

And this is where we see how good Klopp is as a manager. He’s built an incredible team with brilliant players suited to a style and shape.

Can he now adjust when we have key players out. Pep struggled to adjust his tactics to cater for their average defence last year and paid the price. Something that he could have got away with in Germany and Spain by just shoving midfielders there and playing same style and blowing teams away, proved the prem is harder than that. Need to be more tactically aware.
