The manager is simply not good enough, he will be gone when the new owners come in, unless we are doing very, very well.

It would be a huge statement of intent by the new people to get a good manager in. This football is awful to watch and with a manager with about more attacking ambition i believe we could walk this league.

We could go second on Saturday despite Parkinson not because of him

1 We need the owners to develop a long term business and football strategy
2 they need to appoint the right personnel to deliver it at the right point
It’s as simple as that for me. You can’t have a square peg in a round hole and we need to look forward as well as getting promoted now. It seems to me that buying good quality under 21’s to supplement our current ones makes football and business sense in light of the salary limitations. So Parky could do with proving he can make the best of them.

Do we have the players to play attacking football?

Football is a ruthless business and hopefully the new owners make us the ruthless ones rather than us being the club that gets walked all over, like it has done in the past.

New owners could keep Parkinson and as long as he's hovering around the automatics he survives. The minute it dips, he can be sacked and replaced. Promotion is the absolute priority this year so making a change, for it being ****e football, may cost us as a new manager may need time to implement a new system. I can't stand Parkinson, his whole demeanour is awful but ripping everything up and starting again, when we can go into the automatics this weekend would be daft.

Parkinson won't last it out here regardless, whether that be this year or next, let's just hope he leaves with us either promoted, or in a position to cement a place in the automatics this year.

Its not just about players, it's also about having an attacking set up and mentality throughout the team.

Of course its the whole package but I'd question whether our players are capable of functioning as an attacking unit. Could change in January though!

    Gooch
    Maguire
    Wyke
    Grigg
    AOB
    Embleton
    Neil
    Graham
    McGeady (under new manager)
    Kimpioka

We have plenty attacking players a managee that plays to their strengths could get alot out of. Not many teams in this league have a list of attacking players like that

I could be completely wrong but I can’t help feeling the fact that Paul Cook has worked well with both max power and grigg might make him a big favourite for the job. In Grigg we have a 20 goal a season league 1 striker we just need someone to get a tune out of him and for him to want to be here!!

    Gooch cant play every game
Embleton will probably be injured again soon
Neil looks good but not quite ready
    McGeady isn't gonna happen
Maguire is too unfit and inconsistent
And the strikers just don't fit the bill

I agree we can play more attacking football but don't see those players being able to play with the required intensity week in week out

If anyone can, then I'd think Paul Cook can. But if the takeover is a 'biggie' and our profile in the public eye jumps again. Can Grigg deal with the pressure? I've seen nothing from the lad that suggests he can.

To be honest i think its better that Grigg moves on in January - I dont think he ever wanted to be here so it just isnt going to happen for him.

IF Cook comes in that might change but I just cant see him ever doing the business for us. Been a poor move for both parties really.

our problem is selling the managers job to a candidate who can take us to the championship then the premiership, but who is happy to drop down into this ****hole of a league to start the project. Whoever we would be aiming for is very likely to be already managing a successful championship side at the very least ( unless he's coming in from abroad) so would he want to risk his CV by taking a chance on SAFC? Remember we don't exactly have a brilliant record at sticking with our managers lately, so it'll be someone who's absolutely buying into the long term plan ( with a long term contract to boot) or someone who we need to chuck a huge pay offer at ( a la Big Sam) who can pretty much guarantee progress. I'm not sure the list would be very big TBH, but if the incoming owners have already earmarked the right man then it would show some great ambition, which is exactly what we lack at this moment in time. Bring it on I say, sooner the better.

Well he's played plenty of games for northern Ireland I'd imagine so league one shouldn't phase him.

My gut says that we'll go with a director of football to oversee the lomgterm strategy. Choice of manager comes down to them dependent upon the situation.

For example we may look at a manager that can take us to the Championsip and consolidate for a season or two and then look for the ideal acadidate to take us to the Prem.

Everything that's built well needs solid foundations. A good DOF can ensure that the entire club from the academy trhough to the first team is playing to the same ethos and tactics. Works well in other sports so that when a youngster needs to step up he already knows the basic team setup and tactics required.

We don’t like that tone of sensible talk on here. Just remember which team you support my lad.
