    Appreciate the update fella.
Don’t know the lad personally but that’s tragic about Dean Matthews.
Latest in what has been a bad week on that front.
    RIP to them all.

Understand you cant say who new owners are if know, appreciate what you can tell us.

Are FPP being paid back the loan & having no further involvement or keeping an interest? or is this currently unkown & just being speculated on?

Absolutely mate, it's a great board where people pop in and out for a chat.

I'm just tired of all the takeover saga. By accident I came into contact with a close friend of Fuhrman at exactly the time he said 'I've just bought Sunderland'. You can imagine how that felt as a lifelong supporter.

I was told all sorts and allowed to talk about it. As a result of my posts I was contacted by other people, including one at the club, who passed on info they couldn't, or didn't want to, post.

It was all like a dream until the terms of the deal changed at the very last moment and the whole thing fell apart. There had been a purchase company created, the address registered as the SOL and the buyers openly appeared at matches.

There was a huge sense of disappointment and anger, much of which was directed at me being the most convenient and accessible target.

That's fair enough, as you reap what you sow, but some of it, which still occurs, is ridiculous. As a fanatical supporter for over half a century its sad that I've become an ongoing target of fellow supporters. These same people throw up their hands in faux horror when I respond in kind.

All they do is scare off other people with genuine info that we'd all appreciate. One lad @Starsky refused to post until this last week. He has a mate who's a close friend of Donald in Oxford who knows exactly what's going on, but Starsky, having seen the abuse @Prehab26, etc, has received, didn't want to post honest information for fear of being attacked by fellow supporters ... what a shame some people can stoop so low, the so called ITK's have been called vermin, etc, just this week. People continually try to pin you down, ask for more info, times, dates, names, etc then throw it back in your face if anything changes.

Anyway, that ramble is for you and anyone else, who's not familiar with the general situation. I'm not speaking for me alone, but for everyone who's had to put up with these idiots.

Plus I'm sitting here bored, quietly waiting for Mrs Smug to wake up and make my breakfast ...

    ... I'm absolutely starving <laugh>

I've finally registered as a user this morning having lurked here for months, and been a member across the road since the start, although had to change my user name :-(, so I'm not Gromit over there.

Could never understand why you got so much stick last year. You even sent me some PM's and you didn't know me from Adam! It was clear you were simply passing info across in good faith.

Make ya own breakfast, ya lazy bugger, you sound like my father in law :)

I've watched this whole saga along with many others and whatever happens happens. Its a forum and exchange of banter /info, yet many have been hostile and downright nasty with those posters who passed on bits of info. Frankly I wouldn't want to know or socialise with them in the real world as their behaviour has shown how cynical and bitter they are ...

  11. There's enough good people who have read your posts over the last year and more with huge interest and understood the fragility of their nature. The ne'er- do- wells with their scornful and, sometimes, abusive attitude will be running for cover very soon.
It's going to be marvellous to watch their wriggling and squirming.:1980_boogie_down:

I’m curious about what your Mrs is making for breakfast. It could be some kind of clue about our new owners. Huevos Rancheros by any chance ? If not this might be of use
https://cookieandkate.com/huevos-rancheros-recipe/ We know the deal is close when the huevos are being consumed. Though I suspect you’re more a huevos el tocino man and your beans are more baked than refried.

It’s going to be boring on here when this finally goes through, although am sure someone will find something you said in a pub 10 years ago and dig it up just to have another pop at you :emoticon-0102-bigsm

That's rare for me so you must come across as a decent lad, hope you enjoy it on here ...

... if things go as I believe it should be an interesting time.

Have a look at this link, the rogues gallery might be a step too far for you though ;)

  18. Mm...French breakfast. I take it you're still near Carcassonne? When I lived and worked in the Vendee many moons ago, breakfast was baguette dipped in a bowl of red wine. The price of bread was controlled then, about F1,20 a stick and the wine came from a local Cave about F2,50 a bottle......and was more suited for putting on your frites! You could feed a dozen men for about F5...in those days I think there were about F10 = £1! Set you up a treat for a morning's work! :emoticon-0136-giggl
Mind you, lunch was a three course affair usually lasting about 2 and a half hours! :emoticon-0102-bigsm
