Well it's looking like the first team to get their sht together will win the title. I've not seen such an open field before. (BTW I am sorry about seeming to pigeonhole you and others . I didn't mean to as I was trying to justify GC's actions as being not entirely his fault. Veritable minefield. I am glad we've moved to talking football )
No problem. Differences of opinion on serious matters are ok if everyone respects one another. As to the league, yeah - it's difficult to see anyone pulling too far ahead atm. Still, early days. Last season was fascinating from one point of view - let's hope this one's as good in a different way. And we still win.
Supposedly Mason Greenwood...... https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-league-star-arrested-suspicion-23003684 Premier League star 'arrested on suspicion of rape and false imprisonment' The player is said to have been arrested at his home on Wednesday morning
Being reported as player in his 20's, Greenwood is only 19. There were odd rumours about Naby last year so maybe it is him
Can't help but think they've scraped it because it didn't make enough rather than because fans moaned. TBH, I think don't get level of uproar and protesting around this. The games on PPV were games you wouldn't ordinarily be able to watch because they're not part of the existing TV deals. They were optional extras for those that wanted them. Ot didn't effect existing TV deals people may have. I moaned when PPV was announced but it was the £15 per match I wasn't happy about. Could have done it at a fiver, would have made a mint without fans moaning too much (there will always be some).
Moaning on its own never works. Followed by action I.e boycotting the fee and giving the money to charity works. The few thousands raised by the clubs wasn’t worth the level of opprobrium and disgust caused.
It's counter intuitive anyway mate, with things the way they are, people can buy VPN for a year for **** all and watch all of the games. Purse strings are tightened like puckered arseholes atm and those with a little bread to play around with, are looking around the corner to see wtf is going to happen
Having said that, people were probably looking at the bigger picture; accept these low key games on PPV and how long until they start sticking the bigger games on there?
The TV companies pay £BN’s to have their pick of the fixtures, so whilst the current model remains in place that is never going to happen.
Its mental to charge the top whack for a bottom two game two tier maybe? with a mix Top billed games, league an even split in two 15 quid for top half playing each other 10er for bottom half paying each other 12,50 for a mix
So 15 quid for Southampton vs Crystal Palace and a tenner for United vs Arsenal? Still too much imo. 5-8 quid would have been plenty.
Its just occurred to me, that I dont actually know what the nations league is. Is it a standalone tournament that the winners get a trophy or is a rejigged qualifier for the euros. It does seem to have gone on for a donkey's age.
