If red wine then lidl do a couple of fantastic reds. They do a st emillion gran cru for £12. They also do a Rasteau for £9.99. My two favourite red wines. Sainsburys sell a st emillion grand vin de Bordeaux for £10 but it’s not as good as the lidl ones. If white then you can’t go wrong with a Marlboro estate Sauvignon blanc.

I always buy a couple of bottles of the Rasteau from lidl. I also only really buy French red wine. I don’t mind the odd Spanish red like danger de toro; but for me nothing is a patch on st emillion reds.

They drop the price on that Rasteau now and then.

It’s my current favourite wine. I think it’s better than the gran cru. Though lidl used to sell a gran cru for £25 and that was outstandingly good. But for a tenner I am yet to find anything better. That trivento Malbec you have is nice and I’m not a big fan of Malbec, I find it leaves a texture in my mouth if that makes any sense whatsoever.

Aldi used to sell a good reisling as well though the current one isn’t as good. Though I never really drink white wine. Can’t actually remember the last time I did.

73E5EDE8-8112-4424-851B-2FEBDC9E2852.jpeg Filling for chicken, bacon and leek pie.

Poached chicken for stock base for sauce. Leeks fried off with smoked bacon and a bit of thyme from garden.

    Like a proper pie

Not a pie man really so never made one. Not a big pastry fan at all really.

I agree on the Malbec, hit and miss but that's quite an expensive one so I hope it's top notch.
