The media thing for me is key to why I see voting as a complete waste of time. It decides every election as far as I'm concerned and it's moved into social media in recent years. And obviously as you point out it's all controlled by billionaires pushing their agendas. One man/woman can't make a difference, no matter what people believe.
Please, Luvvy. Take that **** to another thread, mate. We're actually, for the first time, all of us engaging in a proper discussion about something that affects us all. Please respect that.
BTW I had rums and can't spell atm Thats crazy talk man I'd never do that cos I know I'd be escorted out
That isn't what I asked. Incidentally, I agree with your answer. However, I do believe - know, in fact - that there are groups that meet regularly behind closed doors, comprised of extremely powerful people, who have access to persons of influence on the political stage, and who do influence what is done. It is not democratic, in my view.
I only went the once because one of my mate's dad was made Lord Mayor or some ****. It was a real eye opener. All chums, all cutting deals to get what they want. Tragic stuff.
That’s merely standard in Westminster. The US even more so. It’d be naive to believe that it doesn’t. Politicians and their parties need funding, and the right media backing, it all come with a price, always has done. Been no different since the days when land ownership was the the route to power and wealth.
