What is wrong with saying "people of colour"?
What should he have said? Why is it better?
Should somebody lose their job over it?

    Read the article ...

he said coloured, an outdated term.

he also said being gay was a life choice, an outdated opinion.

He made a sweeping Stereotypical generalisation on race ...and used someone else’s anecdote that could be termed sexist.

All in the public eye working for the FA who represent a lot of the people he made silly comments on .

He needs media training ... too late now I suppose .

Nothing ...is it’s not a preferable term?

That’s not what he said though according to the article I read.

    “high-profile coloured footballers”.

If he had , he probably would have got away with the rest of the interview .

I dont understand why you say it's wrong to have an "outdated" opinion. Aren't people able to have different opinions?

Firstly , I was correcting you (you didn’t grasp the reasons why he was asked to stand down).

However, you do understand the term he used is now deemed as racist ?

People of colour may find it offensive ... and I believe black players have already reacted negatively to the outdated term.

He was being interviewed ... he really should have been more careful . People in the public eye , representing many different people should be careful what opinions they air as they may get fired.

Also ,’he appears to be homophobic...and sexist !

**** him , I have no sympathy for old dinosaurs who can’t read the situation and not be an old ****er. He works for the English Football Association.. representing white ,’people of colour , women and gay footballers .

"Brennan said Clarke's language in reference to black players was the kind that did not encourage inclusion"
So what about all the BAME people who say that BAME people are more likely to get COVID-19? Are they not encouraging inclusion?
I'm not sure there's any logic in what you are saying. Should people highlight differences in ethnicity or not?

I don’t have to... I didn’t define it as racist. I’m just pointing out why he was asked to stand down.

Google will help you understand why it’s been deemed a racist term.

He's sexist because he thinks females don't like having the ball kicked at them? Men don't like having the ball kicked at them but I would suggest that men can handle it better. Is highlighting reality sexist now?
