As suspected, it's a run just for the sake of having a run. She wants to get his mark down, and assuming his leg holds up, Motueka (Jim) will then be going chasing. To be fair, he is a proper chasing type and I hope he does well for her. Edit: a quid ew at 80-1 just so I can watch it on Ladds TV
Hereford 15,37 Knight Commander 11/2 Fairyhouse 12,30 Silabh Mhuire Lass 11/4 13,00 Wrong Direction 9/4 13,30 Small bet on Auvergnat 12/1 e/w
Afternoon Reebs. I hope all is well with you. My quid ew has gone on the other ‘no hoper’ in that Huntingdon race, Jamacho @ 100/1. Competitive looking race for the grade and Jamacho may have just reached his ceiling with 4 wins in the summer. But good ground a plus and 100/1 is just massive for a horse that has been competitive off this mark in similar races on top of the ground.
16:12 Hereford - Maybe Winds Of Fire can improve on his hurdling form in this pretty average sort of race. Tom O'Brien has the mount for trainer Evan Williams. 6/1 best price atm)
Knight Commander should not be allowed to run anymore. Not only does he harm those who have trusted him, but also other punters, who have not seen today's start that see and verify what has happened. The curious thing is that if he had started well I think he would have won the race as he arrived.
KNIGHT COMMANDER, placed fifth, had been reluctant to jump off resulting in FREEDOM CHIMES running into the back of it, and causing that rider to be unseated. After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved. The unruly behaviour of KNIGHT COMMANDER which had been reluctant to jump off, causing another rider to be unseated, was considered. As the gelding had also been reluctant to jump off at Taunton on 28 October 2020, Sheila Lewis was informed that any future similar behaviour from KNIGHT COMMANDER may result in the horse being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
thanks Oddy and all. Not bad for a horse that cost 800 quid per 10% and has 4 places and 2 wins in his six runs for us!!
