If we hadn't looked like scoring, then yes, I would have taken the point and welcome. The thing is (VAR notwithstanding, the godforsaken swinington) we could have won it easily, say 4-1. Again, we wasted our chances and that's what annoys me most at the moment and indeed, what has annoyed me last season, and the season before last, and seasons prior to that ad infinitum. It doesn't matter who's playing for us. We're now supposed to have the squad depth and Jota and Firmino started. FFS get the feckin thing in the feckin net WHEN IT MATTERS against THE TEAMS THAT DO MATTER! Yes, we walked it against Atalanta and it was amazing, but just because it's City, whose defence is in the bin, too, at the Empty, we always look cagey and worried. Don't give me none of this 'good result' ****. We had them.
And at the same time, de bruyne scores his pen and Jesus scores his free header from 6 yards out and we lose 3-1... ifs and buts
understandable to a degree, it's the pinnacle game out of the 38 pressure wise Sterling should have scored too when it just caught Als leg. He had sweet jebus to pass to or should have squeezed it in, Als legs were miles apart relatively speaking. The City squad don't perform v us most times like they do against everyone else. Yes we play a part in that, but they also feel the pressure. Mane tho, is ruthless and I honestly think that players will mess up a certain number of times a season and I think with Mane, his just happened to be the last couple of City games where he didn't take good chances. I don't think pressure affects his game at all In fact we'd been so consistent, wouldn't surprise me if more than a few players just coincidentally had their single messups in the City games, it's only been what, 3 games really over 2 seasons. We beat them good before that n in the CL
TBF, if I were a professional I'd want to play for England too. Just find it boring to watch them and obviously prefer Liverpool to benefit from the players.
I agree. It is an honour to be picked to represent your country, and I get that. As a spectator I'm underwhelmed, and when it disrupts the domestic season I'm pissed off. If all internationals were confined to the close season I wouldn't be bothered.
Always think it would benefit the fans, the club's, the players and the international managers if all internationals were in a month block at the end of the season. Doesn't disrupt the players or club's during the season. Gives the international managers a chance to work with players for a sustained period and possibly more exciting for fans if it's a qualification tournament and then euros or world cup the year after. Instead we are in early November with our 3rd ****ing break only 8 games in ffs.
