Bit harsh Chilcs. We've had far greater deviations than Archie's, at least Liddle's dribbling dross was re Saint's current lofty position.
He obviously did very little research into the ages of current Premier League teams for had he done so he would have seen that Saints average first team age is not that different to other PL sides. I read the Times but usually skip his articles but read this one after being encouraged to when it was referred to on here.
I for one have avoided posting on this site for the last few months due to the continual refusal of posters to comply with your numerous requests to keep politics on the Politics thread. I still follow the relevant threads regarding the team I love, but even these threads, at some point get back to the personal political views of the poster, that I have no interest in, as other posters have no interest in mine. We basically have two political thread's, the one mentioned above and the COVID thread, so if it is not too much to ask, can we please use them for the purpose they were intended for and the football threads for football topics. COYS
I too agree, the issue I feel is that the culprits who keep bringing up the political nonsense aren't delt with. So until such time as this is the case.. I imagine it'll keep happening.

As the one who started this s**tfest, may I explain that I put in on here as an example of lazy journalism. I already suspected that Rod Liddle had little knowledge of Saints. I also realise that coming on here is like any other social media, that those brainwashed with political bias will bring it into any discussion. Lesson learned, do not comment on anything that gives them the chink of light to regurgitate their dogma. Sorry Chilco.
You just know Saints fans can be relied on to make going top of the Premier League into a row about anything not connected to football in general or Saints. We are so used to abject misery, that we don’t know how to react to sudden joy. Good job we can laugh at ourselves, before anyone else does. Maybe!
Isn't that being a little bit catty? We must stop these people getting their claws into a football thread. People need to paws for thought before posting. I am sometimes within a whisker of posting something political but stop myself just in time. Being the first to post these puns I feel a bit like a guinea pig. That is the easy ones done.
You’re not a BBC producer are you. Homes under the hammer? Other old people’s programmes are available.
I apologise, but giving someone a dose of the birch whilst maintaining social distancing is a bit too awkward. My approach, as always with any kind of off-topic persistence, is to allow one or two posts before trying to steer people back on course. That usually works fine. By the way, if you can’t bear even that much exposure to topics you aren’t comfortable with, you can always put the culprits on ignore.
Threads do get derailed but if you think that's bad you should try having a conversation to my ex-Mrs. She couldn't stay on track if she had been born a train. It ain't that bad on here for thread transgressions and if the worst happens and it really does grate on you just resort to the tried and tested method of getting things back on track, biscuits ..... Who knows, just maybe we are now at the start of a thrilling ride with Saints. The players look so different these days and there is a huge sense of fun in the team. There are so many smiles, so much positivity and everything seems possible once again. Is it because the moaners and groaners and lazy buggers have been shipped out? Ralph looks like he is building for the long term and if that is the case we can all look forward to a lot of fun.
Going to be doing that a bit...just started 14 days isolation due to contact with someone with Covid.
