I think I've noticed one obvious problem: there's this bloke in our team named Gareth Bale, who we apparently forgot was on the pitch

Our continued use of Ndombele as a No10 is also starting to grate, because with him further up the pitch we don't have any creativity in the pivot - which means a lot of sideways passing halfway up the pitch and a lot of speculative balls to the final third as nobody's bridging the gap

It's the same position that doesn't get any service. Bale, Moura, Bergwijn, Son... doesn't matter.

When Aurier plays it makes a certain amount of sense, as Aurier's role is to bomb forward to create space so he shouldn't be passing to Bergwijn/Lamela/Lucas - however, when Doherty plays, it is more of a problem as he's in the Ben Davies role

The biggest problem, though, is Bale cutting inside yet not getting anything from Ndombele or Sissoko

Most Progressive Carrying: Carlos Vinicius. He was on the pitch for 12 minutes.

West Brom's map shows another issue: much like the Burnley match, all it takes is the keeper hitting it long and it causes all manner of problems as it removes our midfield from the equation completely and leaves our CBs having to mop up, something none of us are confident about and it seems our opponents know this

The triangles between Krovinovic/Robinson/Townsend and Krovinovic/Townsend/O'Shea also underlines our lack of any real press in midfield, because if we had somebody hassling Krovinovic we'd have shut down a lot of their moves
