Posted this last night ahead of today's news of Keith Millen being sacked. Proved to be ever so slightly prophetic! I think appointing from within can work but definitely not the answer this time around, let's hope the board don't get tempted http://exiledrobin.blogspot.com/2011/10/boot-room.html?spref=tw
jonathan acworth: Bloody hell - you've been on this forum for a month and have posted 1037 times! Christ, someone needs to get a job/girlfriend....
It all depends on who you appoint from within. Some can handle it, others can't. Obviously your manager couldn't cope.
sadly for us appointing from within didn't work, but some clubs have been successful like Charlton appointing Powell, Yeovil done it as well, not sure who else has done it successfully though
would anyone like to bring this thread back on topic? Right, this appointing from within technique is good if your club is short on funds, or keeps getting declined by mangerial targets. Shame that McClaren and Millen have gone, i had a pound on Steve Kean being the first manager to be fired.
