With the Check a trade trophy in the foreground for the iconic snapshot in time that they will still talk about in 100 years time in the Halfway House. Much like the World Cup in the foreground.
You have to laugh at this situation at times. Some people are becoming hysterical about 'info' being posted on threads about takeover rumours. There are also people trying to create a war between the boards which is like being back at junior school. There are good posters on both boards and many post on both. What I don't understand is why people denounce anything ITK especially when they claim they've heard info to the contrary ... ... how the f**k does that work? Even more bizarre is that there are people who insist nothing's happening based on no information at all. I trust what I'm being told, because of who it comes from, but I'm not putting money on it. There's a pathetic little game being played out of these forums. People will act all coy and ask, 'can you put a date on that mate' to which the answer is usually no. They'll then ask for an estimation which they then run away with like they've just nicked someone's scarf. That date is then repeated 20 times a day, as if people swore their life on it. I blame the lockdown and people being bored out of their minds. Burnley are up for sale and it's reported at least two different groups are in the running, but I doubt their supporters are attacking each other on forums. Some people seem to take it all too seriously and believe that these forums actually matter. Yeah it's frustrating but something will happen ... ... it's impossible for nothing to happen. KTF if you want to, don't if you don't, no big deal.
It’s Wheatsheaf’s Eve. If nothing happens I’m going to take him out in the cover of night using stealth and bravery similar to that used in the execution of Bin Laden. (ie I’ll tell you later did it with a dramatic tale but it didn’t really happen). @Wheatsheaf
Wheatsheaf eve, ha ha, I love it!! I'm nightshift tonight so can't wait to wake up tomorrow afternoon like an excited bairn at Christmas to see if Santa has been.
I'm always one of those " if happens it happens" types, so we'll see. There is obviously some genuine interest, and with the owner being very keen to sell, in normal times I imagine it would be done and dusted some time ago. But they are not normal, and even though other takeovers have happened during this dystopian interlude, maybe these uncertain times are causing pause for thought from any prospective buyer. If so, they couldn't be blamed really.
I was just thinking this meself, these dates are just guidelines, this ain’t a delivery and we are staying off work for the stuff coming. Too many people are fixing on dates and you can sense the tension and anxiety when the date creeps up. I’m not a Gardener (well I am but not the green fingered type) but I would liken a take over to a chilli plant, you’ve read up on it and you know roughly when they are supposed to flower and ripen but you can’t put an exact date on it.
