Thanks, said I cant watch it, my VPN was set to Denmark, had to switch to UK. Cant watch Sky YT vids in Denmark for some reason.. odd yeah, by the rules, his arm was not needing to be out there, it was out a bit, but had that arm been straight down but still same distance from body, I think he gets away with it. Looks worse the way he has his arm bent Also, I do think that the fact the one was given today earlier, affected that decision because there is so much talk of VAR consistency. Not a pen in normal times, but these are anything but
pretty much agree that the slightly raised position of his arm was a problem though he clearly made every effort to get his arm out of the way but as you say the earlier decision decided it .
A point against City is always good. Especially at the Etihad. But this season will be quite competitive as we are already 7 points behind what we had last season. Those who thought we would dominate again are going to be disappointed. leicester Spurs and Villa at the top of the league. Who would have thought it?
What will separate the wheat from the chaff by the business end of the season is this Good form will create the pressure of please log in to view this image Everton had what, 5 6 wins on the go, and then some expectation to perform set in. Watch, they'll get better now after dropping down
No pre season congested calendar no fans 3 subs instead of 5 Extended internationals This season was never going to be easy for anyone to dominate with teams having to rotate a lot more. Was why I think city are still favourites as they have a much larger squad.
ok this is not going to be popular Watched it again, Gomez arm comes up to block the ball just as the ball gets to him He didnt mean it, but I can see why VAR might give that. Looks worse in slo mo, but it's arm to ball technically
He did stick his arm out as he raised his thigh to try and stop the ball, a total natural reaction when trying to stop something and although unintentional a handball. All this talk about "natural position" from the pundits doesn't hold in this case, look where his right arm is (the one he doesn't try to stop the ball with).
I know a bit (only a bit lol) And I think it was a pen You are muddling up should it be a pen and is it a pen under the current laws imho Defo to most should not be a pen but it defo was I agree with all that’s been said but it is defo a pen nowadays
But it’s not. In same way wolves one isn’t a pen. Because neither are in an unnatural position and making themselves bigger. It hit Gomez on the elbow which was down by his side. If he has his hand down by his side is still hits him in the same spot so clearly not an unnatural position. anyway, makes no difference as it’s given but until powers in be getting a bit of common sense we’ll continue with forwards kicking it at defenders hands and claiming pens. might as well just go whole hog and do what hockey do. Any touch of the hand and give them a penalty corner from edge of 18 yard box
So it might be in the letter of the law, but it's just as absurd as being offside because you have long eyelashes. This has everything to do with an obsession for legislation, and nothing to do with the spirit of the game.
totally agree, was a natural movement, but VAR are ******ed, common sense is not a requirement for a VAR official
He's initially in a natural position but than twists in an attempt to get his arms out the way. As I've said a couple of times already it's not a penalty if he puts his arms behind his back but the ball would still hit the same spot on his elbow. Handball rule is as bad as the offside rule!
If his arms are behind his back (or even down by his side) how does the ball hit his elbow after crossing his chest/stomach
Please PLEASE make a video of you running near full speed with your arms down by your side then try stop suddenly, and post it Pretty please?
I have already said it was a natural position for running (though he did push it forward and immediately pulled it down when the ball hit (another natural reaction). What i want to know is how Zang thinks the ball hit his elbow if his arm was at his side (or behind his back)
As I've said a couple of times already it's not a penalty if he puts his arms behind his back but the ball would still hit the same spot on his elbow.
