There are 3 more if you liked it. I love the flow of the writing, no effort to it you read a page without realising. It's my fave ever because of his ability to write emotion and make it almost real. The scene when he runs home to his mother after learning about the death of his girl is incredible stuff.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book cover to cover, you lot seem like reading nerds so what am I missing out on?

Nothing really puts me off, just never something I got into. Closest probably got was during GCSE but I just watched the films instead. Just doesn’t cross my mind to read a book as something to do

My oldest is the same, he's very practical and does lack imagination. He's not interested in stories whether they are in a book or on TV. I'm the opposite and love stories.

I should give it a go. Not sure if I lack imagination or attention span. Need to find something that might actually interest me

I used to read a lot, especially Stephen Leather books;.
As above, you are reading it, and much more imagination.

I don't mean lacking imagination as an insult btw. I suppose you have to find something that grabs you which is what I was taking about with Libby. The book I recommended just takes me to another place because of how good the writer is.

Don't rate it quite as high as you but I did enjoy it. Like you say the flow of the writing is excellent and makes it so effortless.

What's the next one? Ask the dust?

I can't remember the order suggested but it doesn't matter, the characters around him change but Bandini remains at different ages. Ask the Dust is the one that is the highest rated, I just prefer the other.

Never read books because I spend so much time reading ****e at work, I barely watch TV these days either tbf, apart from sport and maybe a movie once a month.

I usually buy a book to go on holiday with, but leave it in the sand after about 30 pages.

Got a chilled day, supporting people over Teams so music on and watching TV while typing away now and then.

I’ve just got off a teams call and ranted at half the people in the call. Told them I’m sick to death of hearing them saying ‘we need to organise a meeting to discuss XYZ’ and told them to just get the work done. One particular project has dragged on for 3 months and I kid you not it’s 2 weeks work max. No doubt they’ll all be on the phone to the MD crying by now.
