I think if a defender puts his lower arms behind his back then a penalty won’t be given. Was a harsh one but they are giving most of these now, except the City one which I would like to have seen analysed
Not moaning about ther penalty being given against us, as you say, they happen almost every week now. I don't like the rule, it's as bad as the offside rule.
I think it was a peno, way more than the one earlier today with Leicester Cross came in from miles away, Gomez made a balls of chesting it, he knew right away himself it was going to be a peno
If you try control the ball and handle it in the process of trying to control or redirect it, that's a peno imo He didn't have to try do that. I think it was far enough away for him to remove his arm out of the way, he tried to chest it, that's why his arms were the way they were
i think it’s the respect pep has for us. Against most teams they’d push for an equaliser but think at this stage know a draw against us isn’t a bad result and with the speed of our counter didn’t wanna get sucker punched.
I Dno. I feel players can get leggy. It was wet day so will be harder to run around and with no breaks, more international games (3 in a break instead of 2) and back down to 3 subs I think fitness is going to be big issue this year. Also take out the adrenaline from the fans to help push players on.
give over. Ball came from 15 yards at real pace. He didn’t break stride and if anything pulled his arm away at the last minute. You won’t find anyone that actually knows anything about football thinking that should be a pen.
They made the point that we’ve been saying for ages. Shouldn’t be allowed to look at VAR decisions in slow motion. It makes all tackles look worse as makes them look poorly timed, and same with handball. Makes it look like have ages to get arm out the way. Gomez summed it up perfectly. Common sense needs to be used but seems the people that make the laws have none. Or at least never played the game to understand it
give over is implying I have some agenda, just cos I seen it too and thought that's a pen under the new laws.. and you dont, doesn't mean I am doing anything untoward here ****y I was right, it was given. so
the players know the new laws, insane as they are and must now act accordingly or give penos away, it's not difficult to understand. Its **** but it is what it is
Makes you wonder if Klopp bottled dropping Bobby and instead changed formation to accommodate him or was it a master stroke? Who knows.
Not long, week or two mate dont worry. EDIT WRONG THREAD No wonder this board gets no new users tho.. I am rarely here so it aint me thats the problem
Am happy with that point. At times we played like champions and had City rattled in the first half. We are still to hit top gear yet but I fear the mounting injuries.....Both teams will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season imo. Have to say that Spurs are real challengers this year. Mourinho is a serial winner. We play Leicester next so we’ll see where they’re at but they also look in decent nick.
I wouldn't say Gomez was guilty of anything other than not being able to get out of the way quick enough. Knowing the rules doesn't make you any faster.
I see your point, but he actually tried to deflect it out with his chest no? or am I remembering it wrong, not seen a replay since the game
