The 424 certainly took then by surprise initially. Not sure if we backed off after scoring (definitely did to some extent though) or they figured us out. We needed to mix it up at half time
To be fair we have played City and the chavs away and Arsenal at home. We have also played the away leg of the derby
Played well first half. Looked very leggy second half. Matip gave the ball away, or knocked it out for a throw in, so many times it was painful to watch. Till only a point behind the leaders and I still see City as our main competition with Leicester second
Fair result in the end. Pen was a joke so would been piss take to lose it to that. first 20 minutes were brilliant. We should have scored 2 or 3 and not scoring that second goal is what cost us in the end. City wit too much quality to try hold out. Dno if it was the conditions which slowed the pitch down but both teams looked off the pace. City dominated the ball but did nothing with it. Passing was slow from both teams and no one really created a decent chance. Take 1-1 before the game with our injuries. Front 4 looked good and thought bobby played really well early on. We have city really problems as they moved around and no one knew who to pick up. Either 4 up top and the full backs, we overloaded city. Bobby was finding nice spaces to pick the ball up from Robbo and Trent. clever of Trent to go off injured to get out of internationals. Hopefully back for next game. Should hopefully have Thiago back then as wel. Fabinho? Not sure when he’s due back? 17 points from 8 and 1 behind Leicester who we play next having already played Chelsea arsenal Everton and city. Not bad return that
I'm a happy boy. I thought it was a risky team selection and formation, but yet again shows why I'm not a manager and klopp is. By the end we were happy to play it out, the shock is so where city. Yes there is a long way to go, but to wave the white flag and except the result at home is a concern for city fans But on the other hand we all know klopps got pep in his pocket
Still don't think they looked at the city hand ball long enough. One angle looked like it would have gone past his chest if it didn't hit his arms
aye but those are the teams Leicester have a tendancy to beat. Leicester **** up against teams they should beat. They play the underdog card very well. Only Arse and City so far btw
Better point for us too; we are 5pts ahead and it was at their place too. I'm am concerned about Bobby's form and Klopp's loyalty to him. He couldn't hit a barn door atm. There was one in the first half that he skied despite being free and only ten yards out. #basics
It looked like we had a plan to go at it hammer and tongs in the first half, then consolidate as long as we weren't behind. Klopp has got us to be one of the fittest squads around so tiredness wouldn't explain it. It just looks like there was a deliberate strategy behind the holding back. Maybe hope to get the opportunity to snatch a winner which just didn't come.
Agreed. It was a tactic we employed when Klopp first arrived; out the blocks quickly, get a lead and then preserve. Remember smashing a few teams like this.
Gomez 100% bang on in his interview. He said common sense needs to play a part and the referee shouldn't only be watching slow motion replays when called to ther pitch side monitor. As Carragher said, it actually hits his elbow. If Gomez had his arms behind his back (very unnatural when running), his elbow would still be in the same position!
You don't have to read the **** I post. Just like I don't have to read any of the ****e you post. And there's enough of it.
