Scandalous decision! How can they give it as offside when it’s his hand? Then Palace go up and score a second. You can understand why the players and managers get upset. Can any of our resident refs rule on that pic?
It's not a scandalous decision because the VAR has made the correct call, by the laws of the game. You're allowed to score with your shoulder/top of the arm area so that's where the lines get drawn. I think it's a silly rule but nonetheless that's the rule at the moment.
Although of course you can't say with any certainty he was offside, as the technology isn't that accurate. I don't think his shoulder/arm is ahead of the other defenders.
The technology isnt as perfect as the decision they wish to make with it. I am yet to see a close up of the passer's foot in relation to the ball to show exactly when the pass is made, so the decision is made on whatever frame of the camera view which the VAR person thinks is most correct.
Also in that picture, sure the Palace defender obscured by Bamford is further back? He must be stood very close to those lines.
Is there any group actively protesting in some way against VAR. I mean collectively, with an actual agenda and some oomph to their campaign? Surely if fans stopped going to the stadiums then... oh, wait, no that's not gonna work...
It is stupid but if the ball hits the sleeve of the shirt (short sleeve that is) then it's not handball.
Should be where the feet are - as simple as that .... Bamford was pointing and the line is drawn wrongly .... once again VAR screws up. Should be for obvious offsides not a millimetre difference. Absolutely crazy
Yep. Same as yours is an opinion. At the end of the day it's mental that we're disallowing goals for things like that. Offside should be subject to clear and obvious the same as everything else is.
