VAR checks for a penalty on Bamford. Sees that it is a foul but because its outside the box it cant be given so its play on. VAR hasn't really done us any favours today.
All very naive stuff with Championship players. Absence of a plan B will be its ultimate downfall, Wolves led the way and now everyone knows. Too easy against this side.
Yep. Eight games gone and 4 conceded in three of them. If Bielsa can’t sort this defence we’ll be in real trouble. It’s shocking defending
Screwed over by VAR today. 1-1 and it’s a different game imo. Some good and some bad performances today. Don’t think it was a 4-1 game and didn’t think they looked much of a better team, Palace had the luck today. Different team when we get Llorente, Hernandez, Phillips and Rodrigo back.
Cooper back for two games, we concede 8 Goals, it sounds like I am blaming him, I am not but the balance is surely wrong? Two of the goals our keeper should really have done better but in all poor all round defending. Only positive was Raphinha fit to play, we just don't offer anything down the middle. Harrison is so frustrating, he is 90% there to being a top drawer player it's just he 10% that is missing is huge. Hopefully we can get Phillips and Rodrigo back, we are missing them. VAR was extremely harsh but we are not the first to be screwed over by it
We are likely to be just 2 places above the relegation zone after West Ham beat Fulham As I said at the start of the season first priority was to stay up, for which I may add I got criticised for should be aiming for champions league I was told etc you must be joking
I'd be happy to survive, that's all I've wanted and today it is all we should hope for. I'm frustrated with Bielsa showing continued faith in Tyler Roberts, I thought Costa was okay today.
Meslier - 6. Wasn't really at fault for any of the goals. Two in off the bar in the top corner. Wrong footed for the OG. Last one did well to get a hand on it but not enough. Ayling - 5. Poor defensively. Tried to have a positive impact going forward but passes went astray. Tried too hard if anything. Cooper - 4. Hasn't settled at this level. Seems to playing at his limit every PL game I have seen him in. Completely lost for the fourth goal. Still don't know what he was doing. Koch - 4. Quickly becoming a Jekyll and Hyde character. Seems to be the best or worst player on the pitch with nothing inbetween. At fault for the first as he got wrong side of Dann. Gave the free kick away for the second and found wanting far too often. Alioski - 6. Tried to get forward. Tried to get crosses in. Tried to shoot on sight. Just a lack of ability let him down. Actually did quite well defensively on the whole. Struijk - 5. Not great at protecting the back 4. Kept posession quite well but gave it away when trying to pick a forward pass. Quiet game. Dallas - 5. Not a central midfield player. Like a fish up a tree! Not the answer to our midfield problems. Klich - 8. Our best player yet again. Loads of energy. Two assists (I'm counting the first offside goal). Fouled when he needed to. Our most creative player. Harrison - 5. Worked tirelessly as he always does. Lack of quality let him down yet again. Costa - 5. Best part of his game was his defensive play. About sums it up for him. Don't blame him for the OG. It was a freak. Bamford - 6. Difficult to rate him. Scored two great goals, one wrongly disallowed. Missed a complete sitter. Didn't hold the ball up but closed defenders down ok. Subs. Raphinha - 7. Thought he showed glimpses of real promise. Worked hard defensively. Surely has to be pushing for a start? Roberts- 5. Showed nothing of note again. His potential looks to be waning by the week. VAR - 1. Complete waste of time! Certainly helped Palace a great deal more than us. It basically bent us over and went in dry!
Conceding 4 to Leicester was kind of acceptable, against Palace it’s really worrying. Anyway that performance has driven me to drink. Son in law gone to pick me up a few cans
Before the match, Crystal Palace had scored with 14% of their efforts so far – their best shot conversion rate in a Premier League season on record – and their efficient form continued Saturday afternoon. Source The Independent
Agree. It's easy to see that sitting back and hitting us on the break is the way to go. Nearly every team in the Championship tried to do it and we ended up smashing that league to pieces. In this league the players are better so it will happen more often but not every team can do it.
Var Before we know it players will be deemed offside for having their c**k over the line Hope our players are not well endowed Ok I’m making a joke about VAR but it isn’t funny really
