It's not just down to Ole though - all the managers since Fergie have been various shades of ****e. Obviously they've carried the burden of expectation of an entire generation of fans who've known nothing but success and assume they have a God-given right to it, but the club's recruitment policy is flawed and that is equally to blame. Their method has been to throw money (because they can) at every big name they can get and hope that it somehow makes a team. Doesn't work like that.
Agent ole IMO is only a symptom of the greater rot.
