Wigley in temporary charge, still looking for the main man..

    Setting up interviews...

Lansdown sacked Millen over the phone, followed up by a face to face with Sexstone wielding the axe...

    Sexstone carries on as chairman...

Looking for a man with experience, who has been successful before and with drive and ambition...

Well if Lansdown did sack him that puts into perspective what we all thought about who actually runs the club, and it doesn't seem to be Sextone.

The two things that struck me were:
    * Sexstone does not see the need for a major overhaul
    * the players are not to blame
    Is he right ?

Not his biggest fan but thought sexpot spoke quite well there, Wigley taking temp charge was obvious, no shocks really.

now to weeks of speculation and impatience, and Pep Guardiola being spotted at the gate.

In all fairness to him he does seem to do the media stuff quite well, that would have come across ok to the national media. Not really saying anything of any note and taking 20 mins to say it.

I just hope this is the beginning of the end of the mess we have dug for ourselves in the last 18 months.

Before we have the great furore about clearing everyone out,i think the new manager should come in, and say everyone has a chance.Personally i feel Nicky Hunt has something to offer this club.He doesn't go from premiership to nowhere just like that,i feel other matters may have arisen. There are some players that have to move on,but this could be structured with proper man management, and with professional thought.

I quite agree myfredisred... I don't think anyone is disputing he has had a few horrible performances in the few times he has played, but like you said, he doesn't go from being practically first choice for Bolton all those years to not even good enough to be a backup right back for a team at the bottom of the championship. Why are we playing Cole Skuse there over him unless he is injured?

What!!! Wiggy is worse than having millen in charge. Should have been given to Walsh until a new manager came in as wiggy was one of the issues why team millen didn't work

Who knows, he might have a whole new set of ideas and we might see something resembling good football on the pitch. After all, is he not involved with England...?

I think we start again with a clean sheet and go forward from here...

I feel Southampton fans would beg to differ.

Personally I would prefer to see a complete overhaul of the coaching setup, hopefully SL will do it right this time and let the new man bring his own backroom staff in.

Wigely needs to be gone as well. He is part of a failed regime in the way that Millen was with GJ but we all know what happened there...........

Hopefully any new manager will insist on bringing in his own people and that will be that for Wigley. The club needs a total overhaul and if that means curtains for the likes of Walshy and co as well then so be it.
