Really nice today mate, 23 degrees and barely a cloud in sight. We have had three days of mega storms mind you. Witnessed the loudest thunderclap I have ever heard on Wednesday when we were all sat on the veranda of the golf club after a comp. Surprised if all the old girls got away without any seepage!

    14:10 Aintree - Springtown Lake

(Last three or four days very poor, but maybe selection will improve things a bit. If Philip Hobbs has the gelding fully wound-up after longish absence, then it's in with a real chance in this event When I see Old Vic in the breeding, I always look for good or good-to-soft going at a distance of around 2-1/2 miles. Watched a previous race and he certainly seems to be a sound jumper. Tom O'Brien is in the saddle. So, if Springtown Lake is fit, then he should run a good race. Best price 6/1 in a couple of places atm. Good luck today one and all! :emoticon-0167-beer:

oh FFS, I am starting to really hate this gambling lark!
I fancied Unowhatimeanharry today, didnt back it!
I did back Perfect Myth, to win, and she looked home and hosed 2 out only to get run down on the run in by a Lucy Wadham rag....Gambling and Golf can both **** off today.

    Best of luck guys

You need to play golf against ME Stick ... that would boost your morale massively!

Ran very well and jumped soundly. No match for the winner, but Springtown Lake should win a few races at around 2-1/2 to 3-miles. Maybe a right-hand track would suit him better, but that's just supposition.

Sizing At Midnight would be great if he could jump. That's me lot ... good luck if you are playing on, and to those playing the Breeders Cup races <ok>

    3rd. Placed.

Unlucky, hampered 3 out. I think he could have been closer, even winning because of the way he finished the race.

Not sure how stick witnessed the loudest thunderclap down at the golf club unless he was watching it on a dosimeter. He might have heard it.

The end of an underwhelming 2020 Flat Season signalled by the November Handicap at Doncaster, this coinciding with the Breeders’ Cup over at Keeneland.

I would not be at all surprised to see the British raiding party draw a blank. I cannot see Glass Slippers doing much in the Turf Sprint after a hard race at Longchamp. Punters need their heads examining if they take 9/2 Peaceful in the Filly And Mare Turf where Cayenne Pepper might be the best of the Europeans now she has figured out how to win.

The best chances – at least as far as the ratings would indicate – are in the Mile, but Circus Maximus has disappointed in his last three starts whilst Kameko and Siskin represent a disappointing classic generation. If forced to back something, I would probably take the easy option of last year’s winner, the mare Uni.

Normally the best race for the European raiders in the Turf and it again has attracted the best contingent. Magical has an exemplary record and deserves to be favourite, but is this her trip and will the race be run to suit her? Lord North’s last two runs put me off him but clearly Frankie prefers him to Mehdaayih. Mogul missed the Arc because of the contaminated feed debacle and I think has the best chance of the three year olds, depending on what frame of mind he is in today; however, I think Colin Keane has picked up a fantastic spare in TARNAWA, who has won the Prix Vermeille and Prix de l’Opéra on her last two starts and can complete the four timer for the season.

In what looks a wide open Breeders’ Cup Classic, a Bob Baffert sweep is perfectly possible but I think that Maximum Security may reverse Santa Anita form with Improbable.
